Our district is full of champions—both inside and outside the classroom! 🏆✨

A massive congratulations to Matt Lorenz, a 7th-grade teacher at McKinley STEAM Academy, for winning the marathon! Matt crossed the finish line of the 26.2-mile course with an incredible time of 2:30:55. 🏃‍♂️💨

We also want to celebrate and cheer for Wilson Middle School’s Mrs. Mac and Mr. Goetzinger, and Truman Early Learning's Monica Frey, who also ran an amazing race!

Thank you all for being such fantastic role models of determination and health for our students. Our entire district community is incredibly proud of you! ❤️🎉

We are so proud to celebrate Anna Weddle at Viola Gibson Elementary!

Creating a classroom where every child feels they belong is no small feat, but Ms. Weddle makes it look easy. From handling conflicts with thoughtful communication to sending home kind postcards that celebrate her students' unique strengths, Anna goes the extra mile to stay in tune with her class.

As one parent shared: "My daughter loves going to school every day because she feels safe, valued, and that she belongs."

They may have already graduated, but we can't miss out on celebrating our "All-Stars" at John F. Kennedy High School - Cedar Rapids, Iowa! 🏆🎭

We are finishing off May and the school year with a final round of applause for the students who truly do it all. Whether they are star athletes, standout musicians, or the multi-talented "all-arounders" who balanced the school play with top grades, these seniors brought incredible energy to our district.

Let's finish the year strong and give a great Class of 2026 send-off to these final Cougars standouts! 🎓🌟
