The “A” in STEAM is growing even bigger at JSA! This week teaching artist Emmett Phillips kicked off JSA Magnet Days with his incredible positive energy and passion for engaging students in the arts. Magnet Days are professional learning days where JSA staff are building their understanding, strategies, skills, and comfort to integrate the arts into students’ daily lives. JSA was thrilled to host Young Footliters Youth Theatre’s Traveling Playhouse for an amazing summer theater camp! Teaching artists, Maddison, Loyva, and Pepper, facilitated a memorable week that took students from auditions to performance of “School for Spies”! JSA families, it’s time to save the date for back to school events! Kindergarten Roundup will be Tuesday 8/18, 5:30-6:30. K-5 Back to School Night will be Wednesday 8/19 from 5:00-7:00 with information presentations by Principal Hampton at 5:30 or 6:00. Bring your school supplies and learn everything you need to know to start the year!
