JSA 3rd-grade explorers visited the Devonian Fossil Gorge and the University of Iowa’s Museum of Natural History. Students found fossils in the rocks, studied baby tadpoles, explored exhibits, and engaged in a scavenger hunt! JSA morning preschool students welcomed families and friends to Imagination Day with cheers and pom poms! They also got to showcase their learning about the growing cycle of grass through their arts-integrated unit with JSA’s arts integration consultant and teaching artist, Christina Farrell! Throughline Arts Cedar Rapids Community School District

JSA’s rising 6th graders got to tour and learn about what it will be like to be a 6th grader next year at McKinley STEAM Academy! Thank you to the staff and students for providing such a welcoming experience!

JSA was honored to host Kenwood Leadership Academy Magnet School Ambassadors at Imagination Day! KLA’s Leader Day was the inspiration for Imagination Day and it was so special to share this experience together! KLA’s Practice 4: Think Win-Win means having an abundance mentality which KLA exemplifies with their generous spirit of sharing and support. Cedar Rapids Community School District Magnet Schools innovate, collaborate, and celebrate one another’s success! Together is better!

JSA’s Imagination Day was a showcase of student learning through the arts and the 6 Practices of Courageous Changemakers.
