Looking for a fun, hands-on STEM activity for your kids? 🌊💻

Join us on Saturday, September 19 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM for a special CoderDojo session with the Iowa Flood Center!

Designed for K–5 students, kids will explore interactive stations spanning coding, game design, robotics, and electronics — plus a featured activity where they can create their own paper watershed with real flood resiliency experts.

📍 Location: Our NEW education space in the east end of Lindale Mall (next to Dick’s House of Sport, across from the play area).

Exciting news for our team! 🥳

The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative (NewBoCo), a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will open a new community learning hub at Lindale Mall this fall. The space will offer interactive skill-building in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship for regional K–12 students, alongside dedicated programming for adult entrepreneurs and small business owners.

"Expanding into Lindale Mall allows us to bring high-impact learning directly to a location where families and local business owners already gather," said NewBoCo Director of Education Samantha Dahlby. "We're creating an active, accessible destination where curiosity meets opportunity and community connections naturally happen."

Initial programming launches on September 19, 2026, with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony to follow later this year. Introductory offerings will include:

• Girls Who Code Clubs: Mentorship-driven sessions where girls and their allies explore coding and tech careers. https://newbo.co/education/k-12/girls-who-code/

That’s a wrap on Iowa CSPD Week 2026! 🎬🎉

Hours of coding, lesson planning, and collaborating are officially in the books. Our educators are heading home with fully mapped out curriculum paths, classroom resources, and a renewed confidence to teach computer science this fall. 🖱️
