🐾 Two Adorable Kittens Looking for Their Forever Homes! 🐾

Kirkwood Vet Tech has two sweet siblings available for adoption. Lamont (male) and Lily (female)! They can be adopted together or separately, depending on the perfect fit for your home.

These two have been raised in a busy learning environment since they were just 4 weeks old, so they’re incredibly well-socialized with lots of people, cats, and even dogs. Lily is currently the more confident one around dogs, while Lamont may take a little time, but he should do great with a respectful pup.

Now at 5 months old, they are more than ready to head off to their forever homes and start their next adventure! 🏡🐱

✨ They are:
• Spayed/neutered
• Up to date on vaccines & preventatives
• Microchipped
• FeLV/FIV/HW tested
• SUPER adorable and lovable 🥰

Whether you're looking for one perfect companion or a ready-made duo, Lamont and Lily are sure to steal your heart.

📩 Contact us to meet them — they’re ready to go home!

He’s been well socialized and is comfortable around people, other cats, and has been exposed to dogs. His friendly, curious personality makes him a wonderful companion for just about any home.

Remember Willow?!

Willow is a 1–2-year-old sweetheart who joined our vet tech program as a mom with her kittens. We originally thought we would keep her as a "building cat," but because Willow has decided that she “owns” the building now, she has made one thing very clear: she does not want to share her space with dogs. For that reason, she must go to a dog-free home.

Willow has spent the last few months charming our students with her confidence, affection, and big personality. She’s playful, curious, brave, and incredibly sweet. The type of cat who makes herself right at home and isn’t afraid to ask for attention. She absolutely loves people and has become a favorite around here!

She might coexist with another cat, especially if they were there first and proper introductions are done. She previously lived with cats before entering the shelter and did well, but every situation is unique.

Willow is otherwise a dream. Truly. She is cuddly, social, confident, and fun.

She will be:
✔️ Spayed
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Up to date on vaccines

⏰ Timeline: Willow needs a home before January 12th, when our spring semester begins. We are hoping to adopt her out ourselves rather than send her back to Cedar Rapids Animal Control, so finding her people soon is very important.

If you’re looking for a loving, spirited companion who will be your shadow and your heart, Willow may be your girl. 💛
Interested in meeting her? Reach out! Willow can’t wait to claim a home of her own!

Our kitten pile has grown! When Willow’s baby was about 3 weeks old, 5 more kittens were brought to Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control without a mom and they were very close to little Luna’s age. Mama Willow willingly adopted two of the 5 and has continued to be a great mom to 3 adorable kittens! We will now likely have 3 very well socialized kittens available for adoption in the spring sometime. Meet Lily (torbie female), Luna (black female), and Lamont (buff male)! 😻 🐾

🐾 Learning in Action! 🐾

Recently, we teamed up with Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control to help a sweet mom cat who was experiencing dystocia (difficulty giving birth). Thanks to the quick action and compassionate care from our students and instructors, mom and her kitten are now doing great!

Both mom and baby will remain with the program for a period of time, allowing students to gain valuable hands-on experience in kitten development, maternal behavior, and early socialization.

Mom has made herself right at home here and just might become our newest "in-house" ambassador. Baby may join her in those endeavors, but if not, she may be available for adoption in the future. Stay tuned for updates! 😻

Meet Wonka, a sweet and soulful chocolate Labrador with a heart as rich as his name suggests! This handsome boy is 75 # (with a few to lose) and around 4 years old and absolutely adores people — he's loyal, affectionate, and happiest when he's by your side. Wonka is a true companion dog who thrives on human connection and would make a wonderful best friend for someone looking for a one-on-one bond. He’s not a fan of other dogs, so he’ll need to be the only pet in the home, but with love like his, you won’t need another! Wonka is ready to bring joy, cuddles, and chocolatey charm into your life — are you ready to be his forever?

*we also have a few other great dogs still searching for their homes, please see the website below for information about Rudy, Kye, & Churro!*

🐾🎉 Meet Rudy, our beloved Kirkwood mascot and certified good boy! 🎉🐾

Rudy is a 1–2-year-old Boxer mix with a heart full of love and energy to spare. 💛 This handsome fella is all about attention, playtime, and—of course—treats (he’ll show off his perfect “sit” for one every time 🍪).

He’s smart, sweet, and ready to share his big heart with a forever family. ❤️ Whether it’s going for walks, playing with toys, or just being your goofy sidekick, Rudy’s your guy! Rudy has also done meet and greets with dogs and done very well so we think he'd be open to having a dog companion!

Come meet him and see why everyone at Kirkwood has fallen in love. 🥰
