Keep your child reading all summer long by participating in the Prairie Elementary Summer Reading Challenge! Students are encouraged to read books they enjoy throughout the summer and track their reading minutes. Whether they're reading independently, listening to audiobooks, or enjoying books with family members, every minute spent reading helps build literacy skills and fosters a lifelong love of reading.
Students who participate in the challenge will have the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments when school begins in the fall. We hope you'll encourage your child to make reading a part of their summer routine and explore new genres, authors, and topics that spark their curiosity.
Happy reading, and have a wonderful summer!

If your child has a computer or tablet available at home, our students have access to their iReady MyPath until July 23! These are math lessons tailored specifically to your child, and new lessons are updated based on their performance. Students will continue to work on MyPath lessons here at school until the end of the year, and this would be a great way to keep math skills sharp over the summer. Check it out! It's the end of our Hill Pride awards this year, but it's certainly not the end of how PROUD we are of our students.
This school runs on working hard, being nice, and having fun. We practice respect, responsibility, and teamwork daily. Congratulations to these students for wrapping up the year as our last, but not least, Hill Pride award winners! ๐

Our Prairie Hill Running Club celebrated with snacks, games, and awards last week! Then many of our Running Club families participated in the Cedar Rapids Fire Department 5K Race. What an accomplishment, and such a fun way to stay healthy! Thank you to Mrs. Aarhus, and all of our staff members and family members who helped to make Running Club a success again this year!

What an amazing tradition we have. ๐ค๐งก Our first graduation walk was in 2018 when these individuals were 4th graders at Prairie Hill. So they are the first graduating class to have been inspired by graduating seniors walking in their elementary school. Today as seniors, they were the ones doing the inspiring. Our Hill students were so excited to see those who came before them and to cheer them on as they move on to new adventures. We wish you all well. Remember- once a Hilltopper, always a Hilltopper!
