Was payday for me today but won’t be for those on strike. Stopped by UAW Local 1024 after work today to drop off some baby and hygiene supplies.

​Their members are standing strong on the picket line for a fair contract at Novolex/Evergreen Mfg.

I still remember when I was younger and my dad was on strike and the stress on the household. I wasn’t able to provide a lot today but wanted to help where I could.

ICYMI: Joe Mitchell Caught Taking Money from the Industry He Used to Regulate

“Joe Mitchell promised no corporate PAC money. Then he took $17,500 from the housing industry”

A new report from Iowa Starting Line finds that Joe Mitchell was caught taking $17,500 from the homebuilders and mortgage industry, “the exact industry that he used to regulate for the federal government.”

Iowa Starting Line notes that Mitchell “oversaw the rules that many of these companies had to follow, and now they're writing checks to him to get him into Congress.” This is the latest report about Mitchell’s ties to the revolving door, after Salon reported Mitchell lied about his ties to lobbying and NOTUS reported Mitchell spent more than $77,000 at Mar-a-Lago wining and dining with insiders.

“Lobbyist Joe Mitchell once again gets caught cozying up to the special interests – this time, taking tens of thousands in campaign cash from real estate industry insiders he used to regulate,” said Jackson Smith, Lindsay James for Congress campaign manager. “Mitchell isn’t running for Congress to work for Iowans, he’s running to enrich himself and his special interest friends.”

• “And Joe Mitchell isn't a stranger to this industry. He ran the Federal Housing Finance Agency's day-to-day operations as its chief of staff. He oversaw federal housing assistance at HUD.”
