Shout out to Melody Snodgrass (the one in front)! This last session at Made to Move Fitness, she attended all three early morning classes each week, earning her the title of THE Early Bird!
Here are some of the reasons she said she loved coming to class:
1) They give me a reason to get up for the day.
2) They start the day with scripture and making a connection with God.
3) I have even noticed a slightly flatter tummy. 🙂
All good reasons! Join her (and me too) next session! Classes start next Monday.
Sign-up link in bio.

Food is a good gift from our good Father, but we so often struggle to receive it as such. Food can seem at times like our best friend and at other times like our worst enemy. But God’s design was that food would not only sustain us physically, but also test us, teach us, and ultimately invite us to trust him more.
If this is a topic you’d like to dive into, I invite you to join me Monday, October 20th from 6:30 - 8:00pm in my home studio. Cost is free but sign-up at my website to reserve your spot.

“Man Does Not Live By Bread Alone.” Anyone out there besides me try to anyway? As in, try to numb pain, quiet anxiety, fill the emptiness, and satisfy deep soul desires with food?

What a great weekend! I was so blessed to attend the 2025 Hidden Acres Women’s Retreat. and even more blessed to get to serve there in some of my favorite ways–leading hikes, teaching a fitness class, and teaching my seminar on the theology of food–and even more blessed to get to do it all with my sweet girl, Haddie. She served as my trusty assistant and side-kick all weekend. What a joy to serve together at this place that is so special to us. We ❤️ Hidden Acres!

It has been over fifteen years since the day I finally became so desperate, so fed up with my sugar addiction and the grip it had on my life, that I was ready to make major changes. I did what seemed utterly impossible–I cut refined sugars out of my diet. There was a fair amount of kicking and screaming and lots of tears, but when I finally settled into a new way of eating, I felt better and freer for it.
So why am I, fifteen years later, about to embark on a 40-Day Sugar Fast? Good question.
I realize looking back that I might have laid down sugar as an idol but I did not lay down food as an idol. Eating a whole foods diet and choosing natural sweeteners over refined ones has not prevented me from cycling in and out of seasons where I turn to food for comfort and control.
In the introduction to the 40-Day Sugar Fast, Wendy Speake says “The goal of this fast isn’t that you will begin to choose healthy food options; it’s that you will come to see Christ as the only option.”
That’s where I fell short before. I found healthier ways of satisfying my sweet tooth. I found creative ways to replace things I gave up, but deep down, I still believed the lie that food could somehow satisfy my deepest longings. I believed that food could satisfy more than Jesus.
And so I am about to embark on a 40-Day Sugar Fast because I’ve reached a point where once again I am desperate and fed up.
But this time the goal is wholehearted surrender and true satisfaction.
And this time I have companions. Many of my Made to Move Fitness class participants are joining me on this journey and you are welcome to join us as well. Join in for either the fast (it is going to be transformational), fitness classes (they are going to be great!), or both.
Message me if you have questions or are ready to jump in!

I'm looking for a few more aerobic steps and risers....anyone have a step collecting dust at their house? Happy to take it off your hands. Even better, I'll take it, keep it here, and you come and use it here with me at Made to Move Fitness! The ladies taking Carido Combo on Thursdays at 6:00am starting next week will get in some step action. It's going to be great and there is one spot left! I think it is for you! Head to https://rebeccalevake.com/madetomovefitness/classes to claim your spot!

A new session of classes kicks off next week at Made to Move Fitness! There are three 6:00am options each week--do one of them, two of them, or all three! PLUS there is an option for Thursday afternoon low impact class. If you have never done a group fitness class and are nervous about giving it a try, this class is for you!
The movement will be challenging but feel great. The fellowship will be delightful, I just know it. And our spiritual focus of "A Deeper Hunger" will turn our thoughts to God, the only one who can truly satisfy!
Let me know if you have any questions. Visist the link in bio for details and to book your spot.
