What a summer for KICK! Kirkwood Interactive Camps for Kids brought young learners together this summer for 1,194 enrollments across 151 in-person camps and 23 online camps.
Campers explored aviation maintenance, created in the kitchen, stepped into the spotlight through acting, brought ideas to life on canvas, designed their own games, and had countless more experiences! Along the way, they discovered new interests and got an exciting look at where their talents could take them for future educational and career paths.
KICK is one more way Kirkwood connects with families across the region, helping inspire the next generation of creators and problem-solvers.
Thank you to the campers, families, instructors, and staff who made this summer such a memorable one!

Kirkwood’s Journalism program helps students build the skills to report clearly, accurately, and responsibly in today’s fast-moving media landscape. As part of Kirkwood’s two-year Liberal Arts program, students explore the fundamentals of journalism while choosing electives that match their interests.
Students also have opportunities to gain real experience through student media, where their work is earning recognition. Last year, Kirkwood student media brought home 13 awards at the Iowa College Media Association’s annual awards ceremony!

Finding the right college can shape both your education and your confidence.
“The professors here are so good at explaining things and really care about helping you succeed. I love the staff at Kirkwood — they’re what make this place so special. I used to be pretty quiet, but since coming to Kirkwood, I’ve opened up so much. I’ve met great people and become a more social person. This place helped me come out of my shell.” — Diego Sanchez, Kalona, Iowa
