Piper Hollenbeck, gets a new guitar!
Piper had a smaller, junior sized guitar and was ready for an upgrade. Before I ever met her, her dad told me over the phone that Piper is constantly singing and brightens the world wherever she is. She’s just that kind of personality. When I met her in October 2024, I could see right away that this was sure true. Piper is a walking, talking ray of absolute sunshine! Just look at that smile! She has played her guitar and sang at a talent show, and for her class at school. Now she has a guitar that can plug into an amplifier or sound system, so the world is going to hear more of Piper Hollenbeck! It was such a joy to go shopping with her and her parents today, to help her find the guitar that sounded and felt best to her. Keep singing and spreading the sunshine Piper! That’s how it’s done!!

One more reason I love my job!
Taylor Tillman brought in this sign she made for me today. Taylor is a wonderful girl and works really hard at guitar. She’s quiet on the outside, but there is a tiger on the inside! She’s even becoming a songwriter! I meet the best people and get to know the best families. Taylor and her family are such a blessing to me. That’s how it’s done Taylor!

The Beast is Awake!
This is Marcus Guerpo. He’s been playing guitar for awhile, but was not always the most motivated. We had to have a few tough talks about whether or not to even continue lessons. But something changed recently. He’s discovered the joy of what he’s capable of when he works at it. Today he took his “Victory Lap” through Hotel California. He owned it! The fires are burning hot now! The Beast is awake….and hungry! That’s how it’s done Marcus! This is where it starts getting good!!

This is Jude Helvorsen. He’s one of my Friday afternoon students and also my coffee drinking buddy. He came in today with his finger bandaged up. He’s doing barre chords and literally wore the skin of his index finger raw trying to master them. If you’re a guitar player, you’ll understand. Jude’s drive at everything he does is off the charts! Plus, he’s also a really great kid. Respect Brother! 👊

Welcome to my world, Baby Girl!
Today I went guitar shopping with my sweet granddaughter Emmy! She’s been wanting to learn to play for a while now and her mom and dad decided it’s time! This little girl can sing like crazy! I cannot wait to hear her play along with that beautiful voice of hers. I’m so thankful that I get to be on this journey with her! Her spirit is every bit as vibrant as her smile and I treasure this little lady. ❤️🎸❤️

The Hard Part
This is Vivian Ward. I’ve had the pleasure of helping her learn guitar since January of last year. What a talented, beautiful and faith filled young lady she is. To know her family, is to understand why she is growing up to be who she is. It’s been such a pleasure to get to know her mom and dad and to see just a little of that family in action.
When someone starts lessons, I’m always aware that the clock is ticking. I’ll only have so much time with this person. It may be a little, it may be a lot, but I only have so much time. So it’s my always my goal to help that person grow in every possible way in the time we have. Eventually, the hard part will come.
Vivian and her family are moving, so yesterday was our last lesson together. I am so thankful that I got to know this young lady and to be a small part of her life for a little while. She is a treasure of a girl. Thanks for the memories, and keep making your music Vivi! ❤️
