Congrats to our second round of test candidates (delayed due to illness) - Korie, Cora, Will!

And we did a winter challenge to increase overall fitness and practice. It was also a great opportunity for black belts to learn about fair assessment, which can be tricky!

And the winner was... 🥁 ... WILL! The prize was a belt display. Great work 🥋!

Congrats to tonight's testing candidates Judson, Everett, Raelynn, Silas, Connor, and Daniel! Way to go!

Because we had weather cancellation, we are pushing back testing till January. Tonight will be pretesting.

Cedar rapids community School district is letting out early for weather. So again, we are cancelling. While I hate to cancel, I be would rather my students be safe. Remember tho, just because you're not in the dojo, it doesn't mean you can't train!

Per dojo policy, we are cancelling classes for tonight due to the weather. Stay safe and warm everyone!

Proud of all the karateka at testing tonight! The focus was technique demonstration under pressure. Congrats Joshua, Daniel, Will, Cooper, Ava, Parker, Odin and Everett!

Congrats to Judson, Kaydence, Killian, Camilo, Warren, Huxley, Emmett, Daniel, Paloma, Connor, Cassie, Alyse, and Silas for earning your next belt! We do pretesting the weeks before karate to ensure students know their stuff and on testing night they are pressure tested.

We did something a little different for testing tonight! Thus one was about embracing hard stuff with a positive attitude and leaning on each other when we need support.

Frey Renchi wore his cat-with-laser-eyes-riding-a-llamacorn rash guard for the occasion. He blasted thunderstruck and students did sprawls every time they heard "thunder;" they went to the zoo with crane hops, monkey walks, alligator crawls, and snake slithers; and did more goofy but very active exercises.
