Students had a great time with our Academy Day! Students from local high-schools packed the building to watch Kirkwood Academy students compete with hands on challenges. We had lots of support from local dealership and independent shops and some awesome displays.

We are very proud of our students placing 1st and 3rd place this year at SkillsUSA! Braydon Kriegel receiving 1st place and Talia Engels receiving 3rd place! Braydon will be competing this summer at nationals in Atlanta Georgia! All students who competed put in the time and dedication to represent Kirkwood!

Things are getting serious in Automatic Transmissions class. Students are air checking and verifying operation of a K313 CVT transmission from a Toyota. CVT transmissions are getting more popular, so it's important that our students can diagnose and repair them.

Students are learning how a HV battery service plug splits the battery voltage ⚡️. This makes it a little safer when having to remove the cover.

Using two scope distribution boxes with 8 oscilloscopes connected to them. The scope distribution boxes are connected to or 2009 Chevrolet Malibu GMLAN ATech training board. This is a great way for all of the students to practice together before testing CAN circuits on vehicles in the shop.
