Let's give a big thumbs up to our September 18 Patriot of the Week, Alivia! 👍

Alivia was nominated for using her break time to pull up rocks that got kicked out of the landscaping. The staff member who nominated her said, "her heart and care for our school were on display in this act of kindness."

Way to go, Alivia! You demonstrated a servant's heart, and reminded us of the importance of taking care of our surroundings.

Isaac Newton Christian Academy is on mission to provide our students with opportunities to explore life beyond our hallways and classrooms. We believe a well-rounded education recognizes that our students are entrusted to us for only a short time, and we want to help prepare them for what comes next.

One way we pursue this mission is by introducing students to like-minded colleges and universities, such as Grand Canyon University. Last week, College and Career Advisor Mrs. Ridder and a GCU admissions counselor spoke with Upper School students about an opportunity to visit GCU’s campus later this year and explore what it has to offer. Students received additional information on the cost, campus life, and the 166 degree programs.

This week, we want to make sure you know about an exciting opportunity: the annual PTF Back to School Carnival! 🎉

The Back to School Carnival has been an Isaac Newton tradition for many years and is a top-notch opportunity for families to get to know one another, connect with our school community, and have a lot of fun!

Let's give a big thumbs up to our September 11 Patriot of the Week, Samuel! 👍

Samuel was nominated for Patriot of the Week for being an encouragement to his classmates. Samuel noticed that many of his peers were nervous to deliver their presentations. He took it upon himself to give everyone a boost of confidence. Samuel cheered for each classmate as their name was called. The teacher who nominated him said, "It showed that Samuel was considerate of the needs and feelings of others."

As a new school year begins, we’re asking that question together.

This month, our Becoming series begins with Becoming Rooted—exploring what it looks like for our students, families, and school community to be deeply rooted and grounded in the love of Christ.

In this month’s Patriot Promise, Mr. Pearson, Lower School Principal, reflects on Ephesians 3:17–19 and what it means to be rooted in the love of Christ.

Isaac Newton Christian Academy high school students are on mission to grow in their relationship with God and with one another.

Last week, students in grades 9–12 traveled to East Iowa Bible Camp for Trailblazer Camp, a spiritual retreat designed to help set the foundation for the school year.

Through personal reflection and prayer, small and large group times, and plenty of opportunities for fun and friendship, students had the chance to step away from their everyday routines and focus on their faith and community.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to begin the school year by pointing our students toward Christ and encouraging them to grow together.

🔎It's Find Out Friday!

We have several new families and followers, so we wanted to give everyone a chance to find out about High Five Friday!

High Five Friday is a weekly tradition where staff welcome students to school with a big high five from a big hand. Somewhere along the way, our Upper School students joined in on the tradition, too. Now, Fridays are filled with a lot of high-five fun!

Let's give a big thumbs up to our September 4 Patriot of the Week, Jack! 👍

Jack was nominated for Patriot of the Week because he showed kindness to a new student. Jack noticed that the student had not made many new friends yet, so he made it his goal to find similar interests and make a new friend.

The staff member who nominated Jack said, “I am thankful that Jack wanted to love others as Jesus did.”

Way to go, Jack! You showed us what it means to love like Jesus loves!

Isaac Newton Christian Academy is on a mission to encourage our students to live healthy lives. One way we accomplish that mission is by reminding our students that they can cast their cares on the Lord.

Recently in chapel, Dr. Ridder used a backpack and books to illustrate what it looks like when we carry more than we were meant to carry. As he added books to the backpack, he reminded students that they don’t have to carry their worries and burdens alone. Instead, we can humble ourselves before God and give our cares to Him, trusting that He cares for us.

As 1 Peter 5:6–7 reminds us, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God... casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

We might be a little biased, but we think it’s fair to say that we have some of the best faculty in the entire state of Iowa—maybe even the whole world! 🌎

This year, our staff kicked off the school year with matching T-shirts. One design for our Upper School faculty and another for our Lower School faculty.

We’re pretty proud of the people who wear them!
