Rock Academy is home to 8 youth rock bands at Eastern Iowa Arts Academy. Students choose their own songs, rehearse together under professional guidance, play gigs in the community, and record in our recording studio.

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Sophie Davidson — making a bold entrance as Miss Argentina in her RHCR debut!

Sophie’s no stranger to the stage, with past performances including Beauty and the Beast at TCR, The Laramie Project, and a show-stopping turn as Velma Kelly in Chicago: High School Edition.

🪲Who do you play in Beetlejuice Jr. and what do you love most about your character?
"I play Miss Argentina! I love how sassy and intense she is as a character, her song “What I Know Now” is so much fun to sing and dance!"

🪲What’s your go-to pre-show ritual or good luck charm?
"My good luck charm for all of my shows is my stuffed bear, Myrtle. It’s cheesy, I know, but he’s been a part of nearly every show I’ve done!"

🪲If you could have dinner with any fictional character who would it be and why?
"I would love to sit down and have dinner with Mr. Keating from Dead Poets Society! He had such a profound impact on all of his students and has one of my favorite monologues of all time. To have dinner with Mr. Keating and get to experience his wisdom firsthand would be an unforgettable and, frankly, life-changing experience!"
