Iowa Leadership College

What an incredible semester it’s been so far! Since August, our Iowa Leadership College students have been growing, serving, and chasing after Jesus with so much joy. Each week has been filled with laughter, learning, and leadership lessons that point back to Him. We’re so proud of all God is doing in their lives—and we can’t wait to see all that He has ahead for them this semester! 🌟🙌

🔥 Growing in Leadership & Walking in Boldness! 🔥

The 2025 Spring Semester began in January, and as we step into March, we continue to see God moving powerfully in the lives of the seven ILC students! 🙌 They kicked off the semester at the Jesus Culture Conference in Sacramento, where they were challenged to walk in deeper intimacy with Christ (John 15:5), step out in boldness (2 Timothy 1:7), and embrace the calling God has placed on their lives.

Since then, they have been growing in leadership, stepping out of their comfort zones, and actively applying the lessons they learned—not just in theory, but through hands-on ministry. They are learning to lead with humility and confidence (Mark 10:45), to serve others with love and intentionality (Galatians 5:13), and to trust God’s direction in every step (Proverbs 3:5-6).

But this is only the beginning! As the semester continues, they are eager and expectant to see how God will shape them even further, preparing them for future ministry and leadership. There is still so much ahead, and we are excited to see them continue growing, learning, and walking boldly in their calling! 🔥

Adopt-A-Block is more than just providing food—it’s about spreading the love of Jesus through acts of service, building relationships, discipling people and showing compassion. We’re taking Matthew 25:35-40 to heart, serving our neighbors in need while sharing the hope and love of Christ.

💥 Led by our very own ILC student Cortney Meyer and her wonderful co-leader Hannah Olson our Serve Team meets every other Friday (Friday Faith) to prepare meals and head to the streets of Downtown Cedar Rapids. We’re on a mission to build relationships and disciple people through love and care.

Saturday Love is where we join together to serve meals, provide haircuts, distribute canned goods and donated supplies, and connect with the community.

Friday Serve Team:
🕒 Volunteers arrive at 3 PM (Door 4)
🍞 Help prepare sandwiches, and then head out to distribute meals and share the love of Jesus with the homeless and those in need. It’s all about building discipleship through real relationships.

Saturday Love:
🕘 Volunteers arrive at 9 AM
🍽️ Help with meal prep, clothing distribution, canned goods, hot meals, and offer showers to those in need.

We’re also looking for hairdressers—many of our regular volunteers are unable to attend, so if you can help or know someone who can, please reach out!

As the 2024-2025 school year kicks off, we’re filled with excitement and anticipation for all that God has in store! 🙌
We can’t wait to see how our students will grow in their faith, step out in boldness, embrace courage, and develop their leadership skills.
