This morning we recognized students who have achieved the National Math Stars Program nomination for scoring in the top 2 percent on their 3rd grade math ISASP!

Our 5th-grade leadership team made a special visit today to Fr. Ken to wish him a very Happy Birthday as he celebrates his 60th birthday! They dropped off a cake as well as lots of cards from our elementary and early learning center.

A few snapshots from our first week of school! We were grateful to have Fr. Ken join us one morning to offer a special blessing over our school grounds as we begin a new school year.

MEET OUR NEW TEACHER: MEGAN JANSEN (1st Grade)

We are excited to introduce Megan Jansen as one of our two new 1st Grade teachers this year! Megan brings 15 years of teaching experience in grades K-1 in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Megan. Her husband, Matt, and their three sons are active parishioners at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Clark will be attending Xavier Middle School (Regis Campus), and their younger sons, Ben and Anthony, will be with us here St. Pius X! Please help us welcome Megan to our St. Pius X and Xavier Catholic Schools family!

MEET OUR NEW TEACHER: EMMA HINDT (1st Grade)

We are delighted to welcome Emma Hindt to the St. Pius X team! Emma graduated from Mount Mercy University this December with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a K-8 reading endorsement. She has already been an active presence in our Xavier Catholic Schools community, serving in a variety of instructional and support roles during her time in college and this past semester. Emma is eager to continue growing in her vocation as a Catholic educator within such a strong faith community, and we are grateful for the gifts she brings to our school. Please help us welcome Emma to our St. Pius X family!
