It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a member of our wrestling family. Alon Mendez loved being a part of the team, and his fun, uplifting spirit brought joy to those around him. He will be missed and forever remembered.

We ask that you keep his family, friends, and all who knew him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Wednesday, we wrapped up a great season with our end of year banquet. We reflected on an amazing season, honored our seniors and award winners, and welcomed our new captains. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a great year. A special thanks to Coach Burdick and Coach Q. for sharing their time and experience with the wrestlers to help them learn and grow not only as wrestlers but as young adults.

The wrestling season has officially come to a close with the completion of the State Championships this past weekend. Congratulations to Caleb, Ty, Lynn, and Kallie who each won a match and finished in the top 12 in the State! We are so proud of the way each wrestler competed this year!

Vista had a great weekend at the regional tournament. They fought against tough competitors and four wrestlers will be advancing to the state tournament next weekend.

Great day of wrestling at the District 13-6A tournament. The boys won 3rd place as a team. Eight wrestlers are regional qualifiers moving on to the regional tournament next weekend. Way to go Vista!

Vista Ridge Wrestling had a busy weekend of wrestling for all teams. Varsity boys wrestled at Texas State Duals in Wichita Falls on Friday. They had some good matches against some of the top talent in Texas. They represented Vista Ridge well.

JV boys competed at the Frank Halloran Classic in Dallas on Saturday. We came away with multiple placers.
