Congratulations to Leander ISD’s Destination Imagination team, the Glimmering Gumdrops, from Running Brushy Middle School and Leander Middle School, on earning 2nd place in the world at the 2026 Destination Imagination Global Finals in Kansas City!

Competing in the Fine Arts, Middle Level challenge, the team placed 2nd out of 51 top qualifying teams from around the world, an extraordinary international achievement!

Team members Veronica Rincon-Rivera, Roshni Ramani, Maya Oberoi, and Emmy Nguyen, along with Team Manager Liz Rivera, represented their schools, Leander ISD, and Texas with creativity, perseverance, and excellence throughout the season.

After beginning their challenge work in October 2025, the team earned:
• 1st Place at Regionals
• 1st Place at Texas State Finals
• 2nd Place at Global Finals

The 2026 Global Finals brought together more than 600 teams representing 28 U.S. states and 11 countries, giving students opportunities to compete, collaborate, and connect with peers from around the world, including their buddy team from Korea, the Winning Hunters.

The RBMS Marketplace will be open TOMORROW Thursday, May 21st in the cafeteria from 5:30pm-7pm!

Entrepreneurship students will be showcasing and selling their products from their "Shark Tank" unit, please come help support these ambitious and talented students!

Products will be purchased with tickets. $1=1 ticket Most items will sell for 1 to 8 tickets each. Tickets purchased online can be picked up at the "Presale" table at the event.

Our Destination Imagination Texas Champions from RBMS and LMS are heading to Kansas City to represent Leander ISD at the Global Finals!

The Glimmering Gumdrops team (Veronica Rincon-Rivera, Roshni Ramani, Maya Oberoi, and Emmy Nguyen) has worked since October 2025. Along the way, they earned 1st place at Regionals and 1st place at State, earning their spot on the world stage at Global Finals.

We are incredibly proud of their dedication, creativity, and growth throughout this journey. In addition to competing, they’ll also have the opportunity to connect with teams from around the world, including a buddy team from Korea.

About Global Finals:
Destination Imagination Global Finals is the culminating event where qualifying teams from around the world showcase solutions to their chosen challenges after advancing through regional and affiliate tournaments.

Fine Arts Challenge:
The Glimmering Gumdrops team selected the Fine Arts Challenge as their competition category for this season.
