OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! 👏
Does your child put up a fight when asked to brush their teeth or clean up their toys? When young children resist these "unpleasant" activities it can make parents feel frustrated- setting us on the path to using reactive language and impulsive consequences. In this workshop, we'll share positive solutions that help parents both empathetically and effectively communicate instead.

Ok, admittedly, we fell off the instagram boat 🚣‍♀️.
Honestly, we love sharing tips and tricks with followers but we have been so.so.busy with clients and classes that our time has been prioritized in those spaces rather than on social media.
We promise to keep posting online here and there, so stick around. And please know, we are ready and waiting to support you through 1:1 coaching (sleep, tantrums, and more!) as well as group courses and workshops for your preschool or workplace.

Mindful parenting is not about always remaining in a state of zen. It's about setting the intention to come back to the here and now. The next time you feel bored during playtime, stressed about "getting it all done", or irritated that your child wants to read the SAME book for the 100th time (its developmentally normal, BTW!)- lock eyes with your kiddo for a moment. Take it a step further and imagine seeing through their eyes... what might they be experiencing? This is a great strategy for bringing our brain back to the present moment! It also reminds us to have true empathy for what our children might be going through- instead of reacting from a state of boredom or irritation, we may be able to choose a mindful response from a place of curiosity or understanding.

One of the first steps toward getting Baby to sleep more/longer at night is to ensure they've had plenty of calories during the day. That's one reason it can be important to wake & feed them every 3 hours if they're prone to long daytime naps. Of course- every baby and every family is different and this is just one strategy that works for many, but not necessarily all.

One thing that will always ring true is that children feel our love when we spend time with them.
Aim for quality, not necessarily quantity.
Quality time is focused, mindful time spent with your kiddo. It means you're invested and interested in what they are doing- curious about their perspective.
Gifting your child your full presence- whether it's 5 minutes or 50 minutes- is a sure way to strengthen your connection, and make them feel loved.

Health benefits to practicing gratitude:
*experiencing more positive emotions including compassion and kindness
*a boost in your immune system
*less likely to experience burn-out
*better sleep
*encourages development of patience
Practicing gratitude is a wonderful mindfulness practice! There are lots of things to be grateful for every day- big things like health, and a roof over your head- and "smaller" things like the sun shining, or finishing a cup of coffee before it gets cold.
Find things to be grateful for today- and bonus- if you can verbalize your gratefulness out loud, you're children will catch on too! What a powerful practice to share with our kiddos. 🤗

Always start with the basics- we even suggest saying "basics for baseline" as an ongoing mantra.
When young children display "yuck" behaviors, there is often an unmet need under it. Sometimes, just identifying and meeting their need can be the simple fix to reset & move forward.
The next time your kiddo starts fussing, whining, yelling- try pausing, and run through this basic needs assessment to see if there is a snack, water, dance party, etc. that you can try!

Let's be honest, 2-year-olds are the BEST in so many ways. When we aren't juggling errands, work, cleaning and a sibling- and we can just pause to watch them- oh my, what entertainment! The way they explore their world, investigate ideas on how things work is incredibly precious.
And then, there are the tough parenting moments with 2-year-olds. They push boundaries, they melt, they cry, they scream, they throw, they dump things out. Sometimes these moments hit when all our own needs are met and we are ready👏for👏it. On other occasions though, hearing one more fuss is like the straw that breaks the camels back.
Whatever precious and challenging moments you have with your 2-year-old today, cheers to you, parents. The ups and downs of this work is not easy. Just remember if you're in the challenging moment, another precious one is in its way!

Just because parents have rules, doesn't mean they have to sound harsh! In fact, kids are WAY more likely to listen if we phrase things that they CAN do instead of what they CAN'T! Imagine this scenario:
👎🏻 You're told: "Stop jumping on the furniture!"- you might think: "I guess I can skip! Or do somersaults! Or maybe I can jump on the other chair!"
👍🏻 If instead, you're told: "We sit on this couch", the expectation is clear. There is less room for exploring boundaries because you've stated exactly what is allowed. Of course, it mayyy be the case that your kiddo will still test that boundary- and holding it is the next step (and a different post 😉).
