TICKETS FOR TRAP ON SALE NOW!

The CGHS Drama Club will be presenting TRAP on November 14 at 7 PM, November 15 at 1 PM and 7 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students/senior citizens. TRAP by Stephen Gregg is a documentary theatre/horror style play. Using interviews with witnesses, loved ones, first responders, and the investigators pursuing the case, a theatre ensemble brings the story of the strange event to life, documentary-style. But as the strands weave together into an increasingly dangerous web, it becomes clear that this phenomenon might not be entirely in the past. Unnerving, exhilarating, and wildly inventive, you’ve never walked into anything quite like TRAP!

CGHS Music Matters Cedar Grove High School Music Matters is a nonprofit volunteer organization comprised of parents, students, and faculty whose objective is to support the school's music and performing arts students and programs.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT:

KAILYN LUIZZI

While at CGHS, Kailyn was a Choir member all 4 years. She took other classes such as Drama, Rock of Ages, and A.P. Music Theory. She performed in the Fall Play, Spring Musical, Spring/Winter Concerts all 4 years and participated in many Music Matters activities and events.

Kailyn’s favorite memory as a CGHS Music/Theater student was the Vermont/NJ exchange where she performed as the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat in concert. It was a very relaxed atmosphere as they performed so everyone had so much fun dancing and singing together. Some of her fondest memories came from the two Vermont/NJ Exchange Concerts.

In the fall, Kailyn will be attending SUNY Cortland for Musical Theater where she looks forward to learning more and growing as a performer. Her dream is to perform as Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway one day. Break a leg, Kailyn! Can’t wait to see you on Broadway! ❤️🤍

GABRIELLA DIMATTIA

Gabriella was part of the CGHS choir all 4 years of high school. She participated in all the concerts as well as the Vermont exchange concerts and this year’s 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Her favorite memory is the performing in the Christmas Cantata at Ms. Jessen’s church.

Gabriella will be attending Marist University in the fall. She is majoring in Fashion Merchandising. Good luck Gabriella! We wish you all the best at Marist. ❤️🤍

AVA DEGAETANO

Ava was a part of the CGHS Choir from freshman to junior year, and she was also a part of Chicago in her freshman year. 

Her favorite memory was every time she had the chance to sing the tenor parts during songs and warm-ups. 

Ava will be attending Clemson University and studying business. Congratulations Ava! We wish you all the best at Clemson! 🧡💜

EDWARD DERDERIAN

While at CGHS, Edward was a member of the Select Choir for 2 years, took Drama and Performing Arts Workshop and was a member of the Tri-M Honors Society.

Edward performed in many plays and musicals at CGHS. He played the following roles:

Edward’s favorite memory was performing the song, Make an Omelette in Something Rotten! and getting to tap dance!

Edward will be studying nursing at Seton Hall University and he also plans to continue to pursue theater as a passion.

Congratulations to Senior, Kailyn Luizzi on being awarded the Evelyn Oberndorf Scholarship from CGHS Music Matters. This scholarship is given in honor of Mrs. Oberndorf for her amazing career as a Music teacher in Cedar Grove!

OLIVIA RICCO

While at CGHS, Olivia took Rock of Ages, Fundamentals of Music and was part of the Select Choir both Junior and Senior year. Olivia also participated in her first Vermont Exchange this year, performing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. 

Olivia’s favorite memory was performing at the Madrigal Dessert Night in December. 

After graduation, Olivia is attending Texas Christian University, majoring in Elementary Education.  We wish you all the very best in your future! We know you will be very successful! 💜🤍
