Welcome back from summer, everyone!
It was such a treat to greet the new Cyclones at Destination Iowa State last evening.
We had lots of FIRST alums visit our table, including several from our own teams, who told us how much they missed the program.
However, many we talked to had never heard about FIRST and were just as passionate as the alums.
We even received a visit from ISU President David Cook and Dr. Katie Cook!
The event was a huge success, and we can’t wait to see where the semester takes us. 🌟

Part 2 of our Outreach Weekend post! Today we had an Ames Girl Scout troop visit our workday so we could help them earn our robot badges! We showed them the REBUILT game video, then gave them 20 minutes to build a LEGO model of a robot that could solve this year’s challenge. They presented their creations to their troop mates, then learned a little bit more about our club and the robotics opportunities in store for them. Finally, they presented their original creations and got to tour some of the Makerspaces!
We are so impressed with these young students and we wish them all the best!

We had a great time talking with everyone at the Science Olympiad STEM Fest today, and playing charades with Cy!
