The Department of History is pleased to announce the October Phi Alpha Theta lecture, which will be held on Wednesday, October 14th at 4:00 in Seerley 120. Professor Raúl Isaí Muñoz ('13, Lone Star College-CyFair) will present "Bernardo de Gálvez and the American Revolution in the Gulf of Mexico." The talk is free and open to the public, and all are welcome. This is an America250@UNI event, to observe the country's semiquincentennial.

Come celebrate Homecoming Week and UNI's 150th with an architectural tour of campus, hosted by UNI's Public History students! Learn more about UNI's history through its buildings on the 1.25-mile walking tour. The tour, which is free and open to the public, will depart the Bartlett Hall courtyard at 5:00 on October 7. Up for a cemetery wander while learning some UNI history in the process? Discover a different side of UNI's 150-year history with the Department of History and students from the University Honors Program! Take a trip through Fairview Cemetery today, from 5:00 to 6:30, or Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00, with a free, self-guided tour. Student facilitators will be stationed throughout the cemetery to share stories of notable figures from UNI’s past, including longtime President Homer Seerley, author Nancy Price, D-Day veteran Howard Vander Beek, and others.
