Every state has traffic...

Iowa just has a different definition of it. 😂🌽

Around here, getting stuck behind a giant piece of farm equipment isn't unusual—it's practically a rite of passage.

You might be late...

But at least you know the crops are getting taken care of. 🚜

How many times have you been stuck behind farm equipment on an Iowa back road?

So true

🌽❤️ Once an Iowan, Always an Iowan. ❤️🌽

No matter where life takes you, Iowa never leaves your heart.

You can move away from the Hawkeye State, build a life somewhere else, and travel across the country, but the memories remain. The sight of endless cornfields stretching to the horizon, sunsets painted across the prairie sky, quiet gravel roads, small-town main streets, county fairs, Friday night football games, and neighbors who always wave become part of who you are.

Iowa is more than a place on a map—it's a feeling. It's the pride of hardworking communities, strong family values, and a way of life built on kindness, resilience, and helping one another.

From the Mississippi River to the Missouri River, from the Loess Hills to the rolling farmland of central Iowa, every part of the state leaves its mark on the people who call it home.

Because you can leave Iowa...

But Iowa never leaves you. ❤️🌽🚜

🌽❤️ Iowa is more than endless cornfields—it's a state filled with history, culture, and unforgettable places.

From the iconic Covered Bridges of Madison County and the golden dome of the State Capitol to the legendary Field of Dreams and the natural beauty of Maquoketa Caves, Iowa has a story around every corner.

Whether you're exploring historic communities like the Amana Colonies, walking through ancient Effigy Mounds, or enjoying a summer evening at the Surf Ballroom, there's always something uniquely Iowa waiting to be discovered.

Which Iowa landmark is your favorite? 👇

Proudly historic. Beautifully unique. Unmistakably Iowa. ❤️

This is such a shame. It’s happening everywhere. May have to think again about moving back.

🌽🌅 Iowa was never just a place on a map — it was a way of life.

It was rolling fields stretching beyond the horizon, gravel roads winding through the countryside, rivers cutting through wooded bluffs, and small towns where people still knew their neighbors.

It was the glow of grain elevators at sunset, the sound of cicadas on a summer evening, Friday night lights, county fairs, and open spaces that made life feel a little less rushed.

That’s the Iowa people fell in love with.

Not because it was flashy.
Not because it was perfect.

But because it felt authentic.

Now it feels like more farmland is being converted, more open spaces are disappearing, and more of the landscapes that gave Iowa its character are being replaced by endless subdivisions, warehouses, storage units, and commercial development.

Growth gets celebrated.

But the fields, prairies, woodlands, and small-town character that made Iowa special are slowly being pushed aside.

Growth isn’t the problem.

Forgetting what makes Iowa unique is.

You can’t replace productive farmland with pavement and expect the same sense of place to remain.

You can’t cover open countryside with development and expect Iowa to feel unchanged.

You can’t trade every field, prairie remnant, and tree line for another project and still hold on to the Iowa generations grew up knowing.

Because once the open spaces disappear...
once the farmland is gone...
once every community starts looking the same...

something irreplaceable is lost.

Iowa doesn’t need to be reinvented.

It needs to be respected.

Because what made Iowa special was never how much it built.

It was the farms, the rivers, the prairies, the small towns, the wide-open skies, and the feeling that there was still room to breathe.

And once it’s all turned into “this”...

there’s no going back. 🌽🌾🌅
