Central Rivers AEA serves over 62,000 students. Learn more at http://www.centralriversaea.org.

In addition, over 5,000 educators rely on our services in special education, school technology, media, and instructional/curriculum support. Central Rivers AEA is one of nine Area Education Agencies created in 1974 by the Iowa legislature to ensure equal educational opportunities for all children from birth through age 21. Support to local schools is provided through three service areas: Educational Services, Information & Technology and Special Education. Area Education Agencies are funded from federal-aid and state-aid payments; legislatively controlled property tax; federal, state and private grants; and tuition for classes. A nine-member board of directors is elected by local school boards to govern budget decisions. The chief administrator handles the daily operation of the agency's divisions, each of which is headed by a director. In addition to the main office in Cedar Falls, the agency also has main offices in Marshalltown and Clear Lake. Central Rivers AEA Facebook Guidelines

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (serves agency-wide) and a Lead Custodian/Maintanence (serves our Clear Lake office).

As an OT, you’ll help students build skills they need for everyday success by working closely with teachers, families and support staff. Did you know that dyslexia affects one in five people? In honor of Dyslexia Awareness Month this October, Central Rivers AEA invites parents, families and educators to a Dyslexia Community Night on Tuesday, October 20, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at our Cedar Falls office (1521 Technology Parkway)!

This special event, generously sponsored by VGM Group, Inc. in Waterloo, features an interactive simulation that lets attendees experience reading and writing through the eyes of a student with dyslexia, offering valuable insight into the daily challenges they face. You'll also learn key signs and symptoms across different age groups and connect with local support specialists.

Last week, our Early ACCESS team spent the day visiting community partners across the area to build stronger connections and spread the word about the services we offer. 🙌

Together, we are building connections that help ensure children, families and caregivers have access to the information, resources and support they need to promote the best possible outcomes for our youngest children. 👏

One thing that makes EA special is that it focuses on helping children learn in their everyday routines. Whether it’s mealtime, playtime, or bedtime, parents are their child’s first and most important teachers.

A look at the impact of the day:
•Visited over 53 towns/school districts throughout Central Rivers AEA.
•Over 30 CRAEA Early ACCESS staff members made connections.
•Over 150 organizations visited and connected with!

We are grateful for the many community partners who welcomed our staff, shared resources and joined us in strengthening the network of support available to young children and their families. 👏

Braelyn is a two-year-old in Denver, Iowa who is served by Central Rivers AEA's Early ACCESS team. She recently received a 3D-printed wheelchair from Make Good! Make Good has a network of 3D-makers across the world who create 3D-printed assistive technology products for children for free. 👏

Braelyn’s mom shared what this support means to their family:

"Our partnership with Central Rivers AEA Early ACCESS has meant so much to our family. From the beginning, they have met Braelyn where she is, celebrated her progress and helped us find ways to support her as she grows. Having a team that listens to our family, understands Braelyn’s needs and truly wants to see her succeed has made such a difference. We are so grateful to have Early ACCESS alongside us as we navigate this journey and celebrate all of the little victories along the way."

Students from Charles City Community School District, Denver Community School District and Janesville CSD recently came together for a two-day Design Sprint to tackle a real business challenge: creating a portable, interactive exhibit to showcase hands-on career learning to the public.

Working in teams, students brainstormed, built prototypes and pitched their ideas directly to a real client – gaining hands-on experience, confidence and teamwork skills along the way. 👏
