My regular babysitter is not able to pick up my son after school on Tuesdays and Thursday’s from January 20-March 11. If anyone is able to drop my son off at our home (on 2nd and walnut) I would pay $5/ride. Please respond to this message or text/call me at 319-429-2251 if you could help me out.

“I am looking forward to working with the band students and making music in Cedar Falls! I already began teaching some lessons this summer, and I can tell from meeting those kids that the students at CF will be fantastic and enthusiastic learners! Everyone has been incredibly kind and welcoming so far.”
“I chose to work in Cedar Falls because I was born and raised here, and I grew up going to school in the Cedar Falls school district. It is a great district with an extremely strong band program - I am looking forward to collaborating with the other band teachers and becoming part of the band tradition here in CF! I love to teach the beginning stages of learning the band instruments at the elementary level and seeing the excitement of the fifth and sixth graders as they learn their new skills. Additionally, working in Cedar Falls is allowing me to work in the district where my daughter will go to school, which is very special!
She has been married to her husband, Alek, for 11 years, they met while in Jazz Band at Peet Junior High. He is a teacher in Waterloo Schools and is in the Army reserves. They have a five-month-old daughter, Kara, and a dog named Ollie. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, playing board games and listening to live music whenever she can.
UPDATE: Our apologies to Mrs. Fiebelkorn for having her name incorrect in our previous post welcoming her to the District.

I choose to work for Cedar Falls Schools because I have heard nothing but good things about the district and I know I am going to love it! I am very fortunate that the district asked to have me. A few of my favorite things are my cat (Homer), spending time with family and friends, and crafting! I can’t wait to get this school year rolling!”

Hi, I am looking for a Second Grade Teacher in need of a teacher assistant for a student needing additional assistant.
I casually started up a brief conversation with her at CF Target where I currently work and now wish I got the name of the school or her name.
She was younger than the average teacher with light brown hair. If you know of a teacher without an assistant and is looking and remembers talking to the cashier at CF Target at this position, please give her my name and ask her to look me up on facebook.
The answer to yesterday’s trivia question is Lincoln School. It was originally called Central School, and it served K-12th grades. Central, built in 1863, became Lincoln in 1893, after several new additions were completed. This “first” Lincoln was used for thirty years until a new Lincoln School was built in 1923, just across the street. The building was three stories high, and was an elementary school. It was used until 2006, when it was closed and “new Lincoln” was built on the block between 7th and 8th and Clay and Franklin Streets, the site of the first Lincoln School. The newest school opened in 2006 on land adjacent to the old building. One of the playgrounds exists where the old building stood.
