Located between the main high school building and stadium, the TPC will offer almost 44,000 ft² of indoor academic and activity space.

Every day - one step closer with Final Phase approved!

The FINAL PHASE bid has been approved for the SCHEELS Tiger Performance Center by the Cedar Falls Community School District Board of Education on Friday, April 27, 2026.

The $3.268M bid by Peters Construction of Waterloo was accepted. The phase 2 final bid will include paint, HVAC, lightning, signs/graphics, overhead doors, accessories and flooring. We are incredibly grateful for the many donors who have supported this project and to the dedicated fundraising committee!

Construction will continue on the facility with anticipated opening in late 2026/early 2027!

After the public hearing for the SCHEELS Tiger Performance Center last evening, the BOE heard and approved the Phase 2 completion steps in proposed plans and specifications. Interior, exterior and MEPT (mechancial, electrical, plumbing, technology) were outlined.

Final details and construction costs will be received at the April 20 meeting.

At last night's BOE meeting (March 9), the Board set a public hearing for April 13 for PHASE 2 COMPLETION of the SCHEELS Tiger Performance Center. At the April meeting, after the TPC public hearing and within the regular agenda - the completion steps will be shared on the project.

A quick snapshot of the SCHEELS Tiger Performance Center - between the rain drops - and we've got exciting next steps with Phase 2 information to be presented at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, March 9.

The SCHEELS Tiger Performance Center will be a multipurpose community space that supports academic and wellness activities. A running track and multipurpose flooring allows those needing space for training during transitional weather months. The multipurpose flooring accommodates tennis, basketball, volleyball, batting cages and golf nets for a variety of events and activities. Additional a large section of indoor turf will be available.

The location will capitalize on adjacent support spaces, storage and training rooms in the main building and stadium to provide easy access to coaches, staff and students. This space also provides much needed indoor space for student clubs and organizations like robotics and to be used as an extension of the classroom for daily use. The design intent is for this building to be a focal point for ALL district activities to expand the potential of the district as an integral part of the community and region.
