CVMS students have spent the week celebrating the hard work and effort of our students this year. All three grades participated in Cougar Pride activities ranging from a giant glow party, to Fiesta Fun, to Jellystone park! 6th grade students also held an awards assembly and 12 students were presented with a citizenship award for their excellent character this school year.

At CVMS 6th graders celebrated all of their hard work this year with Tiki Shack. Students also displayed all of their work, art, and projects from all classes at the annual Spring Open House. It has been a great week here celebrating learning and all of the effort made this school year. We are so proud of our students!

Musical Theater students at CVMS recently performed the spring musical Cyrano de Burger Shack. Students have worked all semester learning lines, songs, and choreography for this wonderful performance.

Come see all the great things CVMS does at our Spring Open House. The Health Department will be at our school during the open house to explain the immunizations for incoming 7th graders. They will also be able to provide the immunization shot during this time. Students will need to have these immunizations before they receive their school schedule.

8th graders at CVMS had the opportunity to attend a STEM Exploration field trip. They rotated through different stations including the natural history museum, printmaking, STEM career exploration, and many other interactive activities. Students had a blast learning about all of the different STEM careers they can participate in.

At CVMS, dual immersion students participated in a statewide Chinese speaking competition. 7th grader, Porter Ralphs gave a speech on the benefits of the dual immersion program. He took 2nd in the competition and 6th place in the competition for his excellent Chinese speaking abilities. We are so proud of our students!

Students at CVMS have been busy learning in hands-on ways. 6th grade science students recently grew and observed brine shrimp in their classes. 7th grade science students had the opportunity to dissect frogs. 8th grade math students were able to explore triangles outside by measuring their height and shadows in relation to a basketball hoop. 7th graders were also able to attend a Career Fair at SUU where they explored all of the career options available to them.

The students in the Chinese Dual Immersion program at CVMS participated in Chinese Night last week. Students worked hard to decorate the auditorium and perform songs in Chinese. 8th grade students announced the evening and translated all of the speaking into Chinese. It was a great celebration of Chinese culture and all of the hard work the students have put into learning another language.
