SUU Summer Songwriting Contest!

THE FORM WILL BE POSTED WHEN ENTRIES OPEN ON THE 22nd, so GET WRITING students!

RULES:
All submitted songs must be originals (collaborations are accepted as long as the entree wrote a minimum of 50% of the song)
Contest is open to southern utah area college students who are: incoming this fall, current, or graduated just this spring. SUU BMCM students are encouraged to participate. Friends and other music-interested students are welcome as well!
only one entry per student
All entries MUSt be in by June 26th at 11:59PM. The form will open on June 22nd.
Entries should be Live videos of a performance (whether it is on-stage, at a coffee shop, or just in your living room).
YOU MAY HAVE A BAND PERFORM WITH YOU, BUT NO BONUS “POINTS” WILL BE GIVEN FOR THE PRESENCE OF ADDITIONAL INATRUMENTS

We want to take a moment to look back at some memories we have from this school year, and give a huge thank you to everyone who made it a success!

Thank you to Dr. Tebbs, Dr. Briggs, Dr. Blodgett, Carylee Zwang and Lyndy Butler for all of the time and effort dedicated to our performing groups, the NAMM trip, performances and events, and the quality of our shows. Your work was everything, thank you for making all of these amazing opportunities happen!

Thank you to our presidency, Sophia Nelson and Illyra Joseph! They both put so much time and work into all of our club activities, open mic events, the homecoming parade, and our end-of-year bash! You are both incredible, thank you for all you've done!

Thank you to all of the other programs in the Music Department.
Music is a collaborative effort, we can't do what we do without your help!

And last but not least, thank you to our students, club members, and supporters. The Commercial Music Program has seen so much growth this year, and with your continued support, it will keep growing next year.

Last week we had an awesome guitar studio recital, congratulations to all of the students involved!

Jaron takes pictures!! Hire him please!! Say hello to one of our resident musicians and photographers, Jaron. Jaron has an eye for cinematography and is a talented player. If you need someone to help you with the visual aspects of a project, or to play trombone, hit up Jaron!

Brazil night with Grupo Batuque du Trovão was a HUGE success! Shoutout to everyone who came to see these awesome musicians perform, and an EXTRA shoutout to for hosting us. It was great to see so much support for our music in the community. Congrats on a great performance Batuque du Trovão!

One of our alternate currents groups, Batuque du Trovão (directed by ) has a special performance this weekend! Come enjoy some pagode music Saturday night. Admission is FREE! We better see you all there!

We have another upcoming event! Join the Commercial Music Club for our end-of-year open mic. Mark your calendars and come by the living room in the student center to listen to some awesome, original music by SUU students- and consider signing up to perform some of your own! We’ll see you then TBirds!

We’re having an end of year club party! The link to RSVP is in our bio. If you plan to attend, PLEASE RSVP as soon as possible so we have an accurate headcount for buying food. We hope to see you on Friday!
