And here’s something even more powerful —Children who can name their own and others’ feelings at age five are more likely to show academic growth by age nine.

Feelings matter.

We teach children to look for clues: 😊 Smiles 😢 Tears ⬆️ Upright bodies ⬇️ Droopy shoulders

Faces and bodies give us clues.

🎵If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands! If you’re sad and you know it, shed a tear. Boohoo.
If you’re happy and you know it, shout Hooray!🎵

When children can notice feelings — in themselves and in others — they become kinder friends, stronger communicators, and more confident learners.
