Girls Soccer dropped their home opener to Dixie on Thursday afternoon falling 2-1 to the Lady Flyers. The Reds tallied the first score of the Game off of a Kyla Johnson drive from just inside the box from the left side that ripped past the keeper for the 1-0 lead. The lead was short lived as the Flyers scored off of a corner kick which deflected off of a Flyer into the corner for the tie. The score remained until the second half when the Flyers were able to find the back of the net once more and earn the 2-1 win.

Devyn Wood is the Sweat More hard working Teammate of the Week for this week.

Devyn is our goalkeeper who is always at practice. She works hard in her individual trainings and team trainings. Devyn has a very good attitude and helps direct the defense on the field. Devyn isn't always the first done, but she puts her head down and gets the work done to the best of her abilities.

The Reds picked up a big opening night win on the road at Wasatch in a rain soaked and lightning delayed evening. The Reds started the game with the ball but were unable to score and the Wasps jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a 55 yard field goal in their first possession. Then the skies opened and lightning forced a lengthy delay.

The Reds took that possession and scored on a 7 yard TD pass from Jackson Mann to Ryker Janes. The Wasps picked up another field goal to cut the lead to 1 at 7-6. The next play from scrimmage for the Reds ended up in the hands of Hunter Burgess who went 80 yards taking the top off the defense for a TD and a 14-6 lead. The Wasps responded with an 80 yard TD run on the very next play after a Cody Stevenson touchback put the ball at the 20. The score held until halftime with the Reds on top 14-13.

The Wasps started the second half with possession of the ball and the Reds Defense got a stop to start the 3rd quarter. Cedar capitalized with a TD score on a wide receiver screen pass to Burgess who weaved his way into the end zone for a 21-13 lead. Wasatch countered with a score and went for 2 in an attempt to tie the score but the Reds defense kept the Wasps from converting and held on to a 21-19 lead at the end of the third quarter. The Reds were able to find pay dirt once again when Mann found Burgess behind the defense down the sideline for a big 67 yard pass play to extend the Reds lead. With an 8 point lead the Reds went for two and Mann found Ryker Janes in the end zone for the 2 points and a 10 point advantage at 29-19. The Wasps drove down the field looking to cut into the lead but Stockton Street forced a fumble and Jacob York pounced on the ball to seal the game for the Reds. Great Job Boys!!!!!
