Curiosity came to life as nearly 1000 students ages 6–18 designed, built, tested, and discovered STEAM through hands-on learning at the SUU BZI Youth Engineering Academy. Camps and experiences took place in June and July on the SUU and Southwest Technical College campuses in Cedar City. We even had a visit from Southern Utah University President, Mindy Benson.

We are thrilled to announce that we are now officially partners with Utah's Every Kid Outdoors Initiative! 🎉 Stop by the 📍 STEM Center to pick up your free passport and find ways to keep your kids busy all summer long! 🌞

Inside the passport you will find badges that your kids can earn. Swipe ➡️ to see which badges can be earned just by attending some of our future events. When you complete your passport, you will be eligible to win some fantastic prizes like lift tickets, climbing gym passes, and state parks passes. 🏞️

You can find us on the SUU campus in the Geoscience Building, third floor, room 323. Stop by today, Monday, or Tuesday any time between 9 am - 3pm. Or you can catch us at our Open House on Wednesday, June 3rd, at West Canyon Park from 3-6 pm. If you can't make it at any of these times, call ahead ☎️ to see if someone is in the office since most of our staff will be traveling through most of June for the Summer Library Visits. Some teachers got really creative with our Field Trip Funding program and instead brought the field trip to them! Emily Hansen from North Elementary, Jenny Van Blaricom from Three Peaks Elementary, and Stacie Marriott from East Elementary all requested to have come to their schools to do a presentation on how they make their ice cream with liquid nitrogen. Chad Ostler always does an amazing job with his educational presentations.

Stacie Marriott said, "Our East 2nd grade students had a blast learning about states of matter in a fun and delicious way! The Sub Zero demonstration was entertaining and educational! After that, we got to see how ice cream is made and then got to eat some! The students thoroughly enjoyed this activity. Thank you for funding it!"

We are so glad that we could help make this happen!
