Adventure awaits when you dig into a good book! 🦖📚✨

Summer Reading 2026 is officially here, and the Utah Library Association has unburied a fantastic theme for readers of all ages: "Unearth a Story!"

Keeping students engaged with books over the summer months is one of the best ways to combat the "summer slide," expand imaginations, and set our students up for high achievement when they return to school in the fall. From prehistoric dinosaur adventures to discovering local history, our community libraries have an incredible lineup of free activities, reading trackers, and fun prizes waiting for your family this week.

At SEDC, our mission is to support requested services that meet the educational and developmental needs of students throughout southwest Utah. We encourage all parents, educators, and students in our districts to visit their local library branches this week to kick off a summer of discovery.
