Huge congratulations to Kane County School District educator Mrs. Robin Coleman! 🍎👏
Mrs. Coleman was chosen as one of only 33 educators nationwide to attend a prestigious 9/11 education conference in New York City, funded by 9/11 Day and Youth Service America. Selected through a highly competitive application process, she participated in specialized workshops with historians and curators to bring vital civic, history, and resilience lessons back to her students.
We are proud to see southwest Utah educators representing our region on the national stage and bringing meaningful experiences back to the classroom!

Kane District Educator selected to attend the 9/11 educator event in New York City
Kane County Educator Mrs. Robin Coleman was selected to participate in a prestigious national educational conference held in New York City, joining a select group of teachers from across the United States dedicated to preserving history and sharing vital lessons with future generations. Mrs. Coleman was chosen as one of only 33 educators nationwide selected to attend the highly competitive program.
The opportunity required candidates to go through a rigorous, nationwide application process. Applicants were evaluated based on their commitment to history education, their dedicated efforts to teaching about the events and legacy of September 11, 2001, and their demonstrated ability to bring historical and civic lessons back into local classrooms and communities. For those who were fortunate to be selected, a grant was provided by the nonprofit 9/11 Day, in partnership with Youth Service America, to fund the cost of the trip. Out of hundreds of educators across the country who applied, only 33 were chosen.
During the program, Mrs. Coleman and her fellow selected educators participated in specialized workshops, gained behind-the-scenes insights, and learned directly from historians, curators, and individuals dedicated to preserving the history and human stories surrounding Ground Zero.
The initiative aims to help educators effectively teach younger generations about the significance, resilience, sacrifice, and unity that emerged from the events of 9/11—ensuring that students continue to understand its historical impact long after the era has passed.
Mrs. Coleman expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to represent her community on a national stage and plans to integrate her experiences into our district's classroom curriculum to enrich her students' historical learning.
