JonesStrong Homeschool & Tutoring

Hey Homeschooling friends and families. I just wanted to announce that we still have a few spots available in some of our JonesStrong courses offered this semester. All of our classes will be hybrid classes to allow mom and kids some flexibility and less traveling, but still, be able to have hands-on experiences and real connections between students and teachers. There will be days we meet in person and times we will only be virtual. Feel free to be all online, only come to the in-person classes, or join us for both. Whatever works best for your family.
JonesStrong is a certified vendor for both Harmony and MyTechHigh and you can claim us as a 3rd party(more funding) or custom-built class. I am happy to help get you registered with JonesStrong and MTH or Harmony but time is running out. The deadline for MTH is in 5 days on July 31st. Please message me ASAP if you are at all interested. You can always change your schedule later if needed but it's best to set you up for success and the least amount of stress. Here are some of our classes for this semester and their age ranges. (our website is not up to date yet but you can check it out to get an idea of some of our philosophies and motto)

All classes are offered once a week for 10 weeks and are $150 each semester or $300 for the year. We start in Sept and run till mid-Nov and again in Jan and run till the end of March.
Field trip Group (all ages- only one family registration)
STEM Class (all ages- under 8 must be accompanied by an adult) We may split this class depending on the interest, and ages. Includes lessons on engineering, tech, coding, botany and biology, cooking, first aid, chemistry, math, and more.
Social Studies ( Recommended for 8yrs-12yrs, But under 8 may attend with an adult.) Will include Tuttles Twins' stories on economics and their America's History textbook and curriculum, also other famous heroes, and some social skills lessons.
BRAIN POWER: Empowering Bodies, Minds, and Spirits (All Ages) We use Equipping minds program, including the yoga/exercises, and then play LA and math games to strengthen neurological pathways. We will also use tools to better understand and manage our emotional IQ. This course is great for kids with learning struggles or anyone wanting to sharpen their memory and brain power. This is a Math, LA, and PE-based Course.
Teen Entrepreneurship (12 and up only-A Dave Ramsey-inspired course) This course actually teaches how to start a business as well as hits on some important business and personal development/life topics.
Career Explorations & Personal Development (12 and up) This class offers field trips into all kinds of businesses to see the what, how, and why of the many career paths available in our community and beyond. We also learn how to build a resume, get practice interviewing for jobs as well as some job shadowing possibilities.
Personal Finance (12 and up- A Dave Ramsey-inspired course) In this course your student will learn about compound interest, emergency funds, budgeting, and the truth about money. Finances should not be overwhelming to learn especially with how vital it is for us to know how to balance a bank account, do our taxes and so much more. In this class we have fun, engaging discussions about money that will prepare your kids to win with money.

A huge thank you to Cedar Fun Center for sponsoring our JonesStrong event on Tuesday this week. It was a blast and they were more than accommodating and gracious. They provided lasertag(which was well worth every second for bigs and littles), arcade gift cards and pizza. We were impressed and would revomend them to all ages for any occasion. Our students had earned this fun rewards trip for having good citizenship by showing up on time, with their supplies and homework completed. We could not have provided this amazing opportunity on our own thank you again Cedar Fun Center!

Today in science we had a blast learning about the physics and chemistry of baking. After learning about the science behind banana bread we then had a challenge where four groups did their best to recall how to make banana bread with just a list of the ingredients. All four groups did amazing and I'm so excited to share this with them tomorrow. It was a messy and loud and crazy science day. But it made amazing memories and we all definitely learned a few things. I wish I would have taken more pictures of all the kids in the process but it was a little too hectic for me to do that. If anybody took pictures please feel free to share.

Here are some pics from our latest Career Explorations class. We went to the Dutch Cowboy Dairy. It was so worth the $10 per person charge. Not only was the tour phenomenal but they even had goodie bags and chocolate milk for us all. It made for a late day but worth every bit.
