IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM AASC'S GENERATIONS CHILD DAYCARE

Valued parents, friends and partners,

For 25 years, Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens, Inc. (AASC) has been blessed to serve the Cedar Bluff community and surrounding area with a licensed child daycare. We are grateful for the individuals and families who have entrusted us with their care and support through the Generations Child Daycare. We have been able to see children grow into young adults and are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been part of so many lives.

After careful consideration and much deliberation, AASC has made the difficult decision to discontinue Generations Child Daycare. The program is expected to cease operations on or before September 30, 2026. This decision was not made lightly and reflects a thoughtful evaluation of the program's long-term sustainability and agency’s mission.

While this chapter is coming to a close, AASC will continue to provide over 30 other programs throughout the community. Our commitment to serving those who rely on our programs remains strong.

Our immediate priority is ensuring a smooth transition for everyone affected. Staff will work closely with parents, guardians, families, and community partners to provide information, answer questions, and assist with identifying alternative resources where appropriate.
We also recognize the dedication and commitment of our employees. Every effort will be made to identify employment opportunities within the organization for affected staff members, based on available positions and organizational needs.

AASC’s leadership staff will be available to discuss the closure with any interested parties between the hours of 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM on Friday, July 31. Over the coming weeks, additional information regarding transition timelines and next steps will be shared as it becomes available.

We are thankful to our families, employees, and community partners for their support throughout the years. It has been a privilege to offer affordable childcare in our area, all while forging relationships that will not be forgotten.

🇺🇸Holiday Closure Notice🇺🇸

Generations Intergenerational Daycare will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
We hope everyone has a safe, happy, and joyful Independence Day weekend! ❤️🤍💙

Regular hours will resume on Monday, July 6th.

You want to apply sunscreen first - at least 20-30 minutes before going outside. Allow it to dry for 5-10 minutes, then you can apply the insect repellent.

We have immediate childcare openings for the infant, toddler and preschool age groups! Children will be fed a CACFP approved breakfast, lunch and snack each day and they will be provided with intergenerational programming that includes interactions with our adult day center.
