Huge congratulations to Ben Wightman of Cazenovia High School for being named a winner of the Central New York School Librarians Soaring Through Excellence Super Librarian Award! 🏆

Nominated by Katherine McGinnis, Thomas Murlin, Marty Kelly, Wendy Everard, and Molly Hagan, Ben is being recognized for the incredible ways he serves his students and the entire school community.

Our high school English students love to read ... and once a month this year, we'll be sharing student book recommendations! Enjoy!

"I recommend A Tale of Witchcraft by Chris Colfer because it is an incredible fantasy book. It is the sequel to the best-selling book A Tale of Magic. It all starts with Brystal Evergreen, a young woman in the Fairy Territory who has recently taken over an academy of magic from her recently disappeared mentor, Madame Weatherberry. Throughout the book, Brystal must battle a mysterious clan, a curse, an evil witch and even make a deal with death. I love this book because it’s a thrilling mix of fantasy, a bit of adventure, and a bit of mystery. I personally really like the plot twist at the very end and the sense of suspense that I always feel throughout the book no matter how many times I read it."

Last week, Mrs. Everard's 11th grade AP Language classes hosted Jay Heinrichs, author of their summer reading book, Thank You for Arguing. Jay talked to them about persuasion and rhetoric and was an educated, informative, and entertaining speaker!
