We are proud to celebrate the successful completion of the first year of the North Vermillion Elementary School Junior School Resource Officer (Jr. SRO) Program!
Throughout the year, students were recognized for demonstrating outstanding character both in the classroom and in their daily lives. Each month, one student was selected as the Junior SRO based on a different character trait, reinforcing the importance of making positive choices and serving as role models for others.
The ten character traits recognized this year were:
⭐ Respect
⭐ Responsibility
⭐ Courage
⭐ Gratitude
⭐ Caring
⭐ Perseverance
⭐ Fairness
⭐ Self-Control
⭐ Honesty
⭐ Leadership
At the conclusion of last school year, our ten Jr. SRO recipients were honored with a special invitation from the Indiana State Police for a private tour of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Students had the opportunity to see firsthand how Indiana's law enforcement officers are trained while meeting troopers and learning more about the profession.
This program was created to help build strong character, encourage positive decision-making, and foster meaningful relationships between students and law enforcement. We are incredibly proud of each student who earned the title of Junior SRO and the example they have set for their classmates.
A special thank you to the Indiana State Police and the staff at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy for providing our students with an unforgettable experience and for investing in the next generation of community leaders.
