However, if your rider gets out of school earlier and you would like to begin summer morning lesson times the week before, please send us an email. If your preferred morning spot is available, we will be happy to get you scheduled in early.

Happy Mother’s Day from Apex Riding Academy
Today we recognize the dedication, strength, and guidance that mothers bring—not only in life, but in the saddle. From first rides to confident strides, so many of our riders are supported by mothers who encourage growth, resilience, and a love for the sport.
At Apex Riding Academy, we are proud to see these bonds develop both in and out of the arena. Whether it’s cheering from the rail or riding alongside their children, mothers play an essential role in every rider’s journey.
We wish all of our Apex families a meaningful and memorable Mother’s Day.

Our final tournament of the season is here. This is your last opportunity to compete before we break for summer and resume again in the fall.
Tournament sign-ups are now open and will close Wednesday the 29th. To register, visit our website and click on the “Tournaments” section.
Please note that all riders are required to have the correct attire in order to participate. This includes an approved academy shirt and proper riding pants. Riding pants must be boot cut and include underpasses, the strap that secures the pant under your boot.
If you do not currently have the required shirt or riding pants, you may order them. For assistance or questions regarding attire, please contact your instructor or the office.
We look forward to closing out the season with a strong and professional showing from all riders.

Apex Riding Academy Announcements
• Thursday, April 16: Lessons are canceled. Bridget will be out of town and we do not have instructor coverage. This date was accounted for in billing, as it is a fifth week—no lesson was charged. Please make sure all family members, nannies, and anyone responsible for transportation are aware, as we have had riders arrive on canceled days in the past.
• Driveway Safety: Please slow down when entering and driving on the property. We have children, dogs, horses, and limited visibility in certain areas. If your vehicle is kicking up dust, you are driving too fast. Kindly follow all posted signage.
• Restroom Courtesy: Parents, please remind children to close the restroom door and turn off the lights. The restroom is air-conditioned, and leaving it open impacts operations. We appreciate everyone doing their part to keep shared spaces in good condition.
• Summer Hours: We will begin transitioning to summer hours starting June 1. Additional details will be included in the upcoming newsletter sent via email.
• Hydration Reminder: As temperatures rise, riders should bring water and hydrate before and after lessons. Please do not drink during lessons.

Last night, we said goodbye to one of our truly special lesson horses, Aspen.
Aspen has been an integral part of our program for many years, helping to shape and guide so many riders along their journey. Her patience, kindness, and steady presence made her a favorite among students and staff alike. She leaves behind a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.
At 19 years old, we unfortunately lost Aspen to a strangulating lipoma. While we continue learning more about this condition, especially in older horses, these cases are sudden and difficult, making losses like this even harder.
Losing Aspen is deeply saddening. Horses like her are the foundation of programs like ours, and it is never easy to say goodbye to those who have given so much.
She will be greatly missed.

Good luck to our Apex Academy team as they head into competition tomorrow, Saturday the 28th at 9 AM.
We are proud to see our riders showcase their hard work, dedication, and growth in the arena. If you are part of our Apex community, we encourage you to come out and support your team.
The competition will be held at WestWorld and is free to attend. It is a great opportunity to watch, learn, and be part of the experience.
We look forward to seeing you there.
