We’re growing!

Ms. Jane’s Tutoring & Dyslexia Services is looking to add 1–2 online-only Structured Literacy tutors to our practice.

Our practice is strongly rooted in Barton and Orton-Gillingham-based Structured Literacy instruction, so Barton experience is especially welcome.

Formal certification is not required — we consider training, experience, instructional knowledge, and qualifications as a whole.

Independent contractor position • 50-minute online sessions • $45–$57 per completed session

Master Certified! All three certification exams/tests were rigorous, and built my confidence and I learned even while being tested.

This one is for our Certified Barton Tutors. You deserve to hear it.

What you have accomplished is not a small thing.

Before you could even register for Beginning Certification, you tutored a minimum of two students all the way through Levels 1, 2, and 3. Then you showed up for an eight-hour certification session where your ability to deliver the Barton System with precision was put to the test.

Advanced Certification requires successfully tutoring at least two students through Levels 4, 5, and 6, followed by another eight-hour test day.

Masters Certification requires successfully tutoring at least two students through Levels 7, 8, 9, and 10, followed by another eight-hour test day. This represents the highest level of expertise in the system.

Only Certified Barton Tutors appear on our referral list, because certification means something. When a family chooses to work with a tutor, a Certified Barton Tutor offers the reassurance of knowing that tutor has demonstrated the knowledge, skill, and commitment required to deliver the Barton System with fidelity.

The Barton System was built to be accessible. A dedicated parent or volunteer can absolutely make a meaningful difference in a child's reading journey and we celebrate that. For families who choose to work with an independent tutor, certification is the mark of someone who has gone the extra mile.

We see the hours you've put in. We see the students whose lives you've changed. And we are grateful every single day that you chose to do this work.

Reading and spelling are the same system. Reading starts with print and arrives at speech. Spelling starts with speech and arrives at print. Different direction. Same system.

Good readers don't have better eyes. They have stronger connections between letters, sounds, and meaning. That's what allows words to be recognized quickly and accurately.
