This is a great opportunity to share a great local concert with our own band students.

You and your family are invited to join us Friday, Dec. 5, for Lyon College’s holiday concert and tree lighting ceremony. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Sloan Auditorium, Brown Fine Arts Building, with a tree lighting afterwards on the front steps of Brown.

🎉 Huge Congratulations to One of Our Own! 🎉
We’re bursting with pride to celebrate one of our incredible band students who just scored a 32 on the ACT! 🧠🎶 That’s a remarkable achievement and a testament to his hard work, focus, and talent—both academically and musically.

Studies have shown that playing music can enhance brain function, improve memory, and boost problem-solving skills. It’s no surprise that our band students continue to shine in and out of the classroom! 💡🎺

Balancing rehearsals, performances, and academics is no small feat, and he has done it with excellence. Let’s give John a round of applause for showing what dedication and discipline can achieve!

That’s a wrap on the 2025 Spring Concert! Our student musicians did an AMAZING job. Their fearless leader, “Mr. G” continues to lead well and set a great example.

The sun has set and the 2023 Marching Season has come to an end with a great show, the intermediate band getting their first opportunity to perform stand jams, and a fun time playing Land of a Thousand Dances together with the Bald K**b Band. A huge thanks to Stewart Grafx for printing the seniors’ posters! They all love their life sized D&D character cards!

Huge shout out to all the parents who helped with our Dungeons and Dragons Night for the band, and thanks to Dan Carrigan for hosting us at the Crystal River Cave. It made a perfect Dragon’s Lair and the kids loved getting the tour!
