MHACG's Catskill Kids Club after-school program is back at CES! Please see the message from MHACG below sharing the good news and sign up by September 12!

Dear Families,

We are thrilled to share some exciting news: funding has been secured to continue the after-school program at Catskill Central School District for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year — at
no cost to families.

We know how important this program is to families — and your feedback and voices over the past few weeks underscored just how meaningful it is to the community. That’s why, together
with the school district, we worked tirelessly to pursue every possible option. We are very pleased to share that both MHACG and the district were able to secure new grants, and together these resources make it possible to continue the program for the full school year without interruption.

We are deeply grateful for your patience, understanding, and ongoing support during this uncertain time. Due to the delay in funding, we currently do not have an exact start date for the
program but encourage everyone interested to complete the application form no later than Friday, September 12. We will be working swiftly to ensure we’re able to support you as soon
as possible, and all families applying to the program will be notified. Our team is excited to welcome students back in the new school year and to continue providing a safe, supportive, and
enriching after-school environment.

Thank you again for being such an important part of this program’s success — we can’t wait to see your children soon!

**Happy National Food Hero Day!**

Today, we celebrate the incredible kitchen staff who nourish and support our students every single day—and this week, they’ve gone above and beyond. In honor of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders preparing for state tests, our kitchen team has stepped up to provide a special breakfast to help our students start the day focused and ready to succeed.

They are always there, ensuring hot meals are ready to fill our kids' bellies and fuel their learning throughout the day. Their work is vital, and their dedication never goes unnoticed.

Author Visit Fun at CES!

Thursday was filled with learning, laughter, and creativity as our K-2 students enjoyed a special visit from author Erin Murphy-Welsh! She shared two of her wonderful books, each carrying powerful messages about accepting differences and celebrating what makes us unique.

Students were captivated by the stories and then took on a fun challenge — helping Erin name a special doll that appears on each page of one of her books! 🎨📝 They colored their own versions of the doll and imagined creative stories about her adventures.

What a beautiful way to connect literacy with empathy and imagination. 💛 Thank you, Erin Murphy-Welsh, for inspiring our young readers and writers!

🎶✨ Music Filled the Air at CES! ✨🎶

Our 3rd-5th grade students had the joy of being entertained by some incredibly musically talented students from across CCSD!

Performers from 4th through 12th grade took the stage, sharing their passion and skills through music. It was a truly special experience to sit back, listen, and be inspired by the amazing talent within our district.

A huge thank you to all the performers—you brought such joy to our school and reminded us how powerful music can be!

CES joined in the fun for National Board Game Day, and what a blast it was! Guided by the wise words from Luca Laport, Poor Sport, we embraced the motto of the day:

"Try your best. Have lots of fun. Smile and shake when the game is done."

Our students (and staff!) showed off amazing turn-taking, good sportsmanship, and above all—had tons of fun. Laughter, learning, and friendly competition filled the classrooms as we played our way through the day.
