Since 1987, the Shriver Center at UMBC has coordinated the Governor’s Summer Internship Program (GSIP) in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Maryland. In addition, the Shriver Center has developed a portfolio of statewide programs known as the Maryland Public Service Scholars program designed to prepare college students across the state for social impact leadership and workforce development, aiming to build and launch the next generation of Maryland’s leaders in the public, nonprofit, and for-profit social impact sectors.
