CHS Class of 1977 - Happy New Year!! Our 50th High School Reunion is only a little more than a year away! Spread the Word and Save the Date: Saturday, October 23, 2027, we will be celebrating at Kelsey’s in Ellicott City from 12-5. We will be starting to plan in about 6 months so start thinking about what you want to do to help out or volunteer. 🥳😀

I think everyone that was gong to respond with a date has done so by now. Many were fine with any date, but the most popular date was Saturday, October 23, 2027
So it looks like our 50th Reunion will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2027 at Kelsey's Restaurant in Ellicott City MD. Hours will probably be 12:00 - 5:00
Thanks everyone that responcded and hope everyone is happy with the results of what our class wanted in line with the results that were sent in.
Please feel free to give out this email address to anyone in our class and spread the word in refferance to our upcoming reunion.
There will not be any other reunion correspondance going out until some after the first of the year, but if you have any questions, comments suggestions or emails to add to our class list feel free to reach out.

Great News that should make everyone happy and give us a fun & memorable 50th Reunion 😊
We have chosen Kelsey’s in Ellicott City as our venue. It is upscale from Loafers, providing additional amenities, but still casual, convenient and free of charge. a free food buffet will still be provided with a cash bar.
Kelsey’s is located at 8480 Baltimore National Pike and can be found on the web at https://www.kelseysrestaurant.com/

The reason for the early start is we are working to get sponsors and donations so there will be no cost to attendees, but any donations are welcome.

Can you all please respond to this email or comment below in reference to the date. Via the responses of the last reunion update the reunion would be held in late October - Early November of 2027.

Just Posted 8/31/2025 Classmates of 1977. 50th Reunion Info. I hope everyone has had a great summer. We have our 50th year reunion coming up in 2027! Hard to believe we’ve been out of school almost 50 years at this point.
This email might seem a little early but some of our classmates from out of state have asked to have about a year's notice so that they can be sure to be able to make arrangements to attend the reunion.
The past two reunions held have been at Loafers’ Bar and Grill on Route 40. Due to the venue not charging us we have been able to not charge admission and have done it
Open House Style, no tickets or entry fee required from about 12:30 to 4 or 5 o'clock and have had great turnouts and a lot of fun.
A food buffet was donated by one of our generous classmates and each person only had to pay for their drinks. We had a 50\50 raffle to cover the cost of the cake, center pieces and name tags.
Looking forward to the 50th reunion I wanted to get everyone's opinion so that we can began moving forward on getting the plans set up.

A Park or other outdoor venue such as Candlelight Funeral home grounds has been suggested in the past but the downside to that is it is totally dependent on the weather, and we have classmates traveling from Outwest and Florida to name a few and
if it is bad weather it will be a complete bust.

If everyone could please respond to the following questions;
1. Are you OK with Loafers as our venue, and\or do you know of another venue that will not charge us to use their premises if we purchase a food buffet and everyone buys their drinks there. This is free entry and no tickets. Or do you want to get a different venue, and you purchase tickets to attend?

2. Which month do you want to have the reunion in? Keep in mind January might not be good for the travelers. Hopefully we can find a month that works for everyone.

3. Would you rather the reunion be held on Saturday or on Sunday?

4. Would you be interested in a golf excursion the day before or after the reunion and would you be interested in hosting it?

5. Anyone interested in hosting a Friday night Happy hour

6. Anyone interested in hosting a Sunday Brunch?

7. Any other ideas, suggestion or requests for our 50th reunion?

There has been some confusion and wanted to send out a 2nd email as the 1st one did not seem to go out to everyone.

There was interest in having an early reunion, but when it came down to it there are many people that want to attend the 50-year reunion and some of the travelers asked for a year's notice. Others expressed that we wait till 50th so that it would be a bigger turn out. Others did want to have a early reunion. I am not able to plan one for this year in my schedule.

As far as I know there will not be a early reunion. I am planning to get everyone interested in helping and planning for the 50th reunion for 2027, early in 2026. The most popular suggestion for a month was in April.

My apologies if there was any confusion, but I had one inquiry that thought the early reunion was going to be the last weekend in April 2025. As far as I know there is not reunion planned for that time and wanted to reiterate in case the email, I sent out announcing this did not get to everyone.

Classmates,
I hope everyone had a Blessed Thanksgiving!
We are scheduled to have our 50th reunion in 2027.
We have lost many classmates as time goes on, and have had a few classmates suggest that instead of waiting until 2027, we have a reunion in 2025.
We have been holding the reunions at Loafers the past few years, because they do not charge us for the room. This allows people to pay for their own food & drinks and there is no entry fee or tickets, allowing people to come and go when they can. Last year we had a very generous classmate donate the food. Our class has a total of $420.00 to work with from the 50/50 we held at our last reunion so unless someone knows of a place that will not charge us, we will probably have it there again in 2025 if that is what the majority decides.

If you could please reply to this email with the following:

• Are you interested in having a reunion in 2025?
• If yes, what month would be good for you?
• Do you know of a place that does not charge us where we could hold the reunion?
• Are you good with Loafers if they are still available to host us?

Services for Nancy Shah will be held at Witzkes funeral home on Edmondson Avenue. Viewing will be held Friday, August 30 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM Saturday from 11:30 to 1:30. The funeral will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday 

It is with great sadness that I share the passing of Nancy Shah, fondly known as "Sheriff."

Nancy was a wonderful classmate from Catonsville High School’s Class of 1977.

Nancy recently retired from the Howard County Sheriff’s Office after an incredible 40.9 years of service to the citizens of Howard County.

Her legacy is one of dedication and excellence, having broken four records during her distinguished career: Longest Employee of the HCSO, Longest Active Female Law Enforcement Officer in Howard County and the State of Maryland, and she is believed to be the Longest Active Female Law Enforcement Officer in the U.S.

Nancy's impact on all of us, both as a friend and as a public servant, will never be forgotten. Please keep her family and loved ones in your prayers during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Nancy. Your legacy will live on in all the lives you touched.

Services for Nancy Shah will be held at Witzkes funeral home on Edmondson Avenue. Viewing will be held Friday, August 30 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM Saturday from 11 to 1. The funeral will be at 1 PM on Saturday 

Reminder today at Matthew's 1600. Some of our classmates will be there early to setup some tables. TVs will also be setup for those want to watch the World Cup US vs England with our classmates.
