⚔️🛡️💻 THE CYBER VIKING CREW IS BACK! 💻🛡️⚔️
Hear the horns! Sound the alarms! Boot the computers! And somebody make sure the cookies are secure! 🍪😂
After a long summer ashore, The Cyber Viking Crew is back together for another adventure across the Cyber Seas! 🌊⚔️💻
That’s right—the Medina Valley AFJROTC CyberPatriot Team has officially completed its first week of practice for the 2026–2027 cyber season!
And this year, our crew has gotten BIGGER.
🎉 WE HAVE NEW CADETS JOINING THE CREW! 🎉
There is nothing more exciting for a coach than seeing new team members walk through the door ready to learn, compete, and discover just how deep the world of cybersecurity goes.
So, to our newest cyber warriors:

NOT A CHANCE! 😂
🌊 FIRST MISSION: SHAKE OFF THE SUMMER RUST!
Our seasoned crew members were thrown straight back into the Cyber Seas with practice images.
No leisurely cruise.
No sightseeing.
Just:
💻 Boot the image.
🔎 Investigate the system.
🛡️ Find the vulnerabilities.
⚔️ Secure the machine.
Meanwhile, The Cyber Viking gathered our newest crew members for their first expedition into...
🪟 THE KINGDOM OF MICROSOFT WINDOWS!
We explored:
👤 Users and accounts
👥 Groups and memberships
🔐 User rights and permissions
📜 Group Policy
🛡️ Local Security Policy
⌨️ Command Prompt
⚡ PowerShell
Then I showed them something important.
The mighty mouse is useful... 🖱️
BUT THE COMMAND LINE HAS POWER! ⚡😂
We used Command Prompt and PowerShell to manage users, modify accounts, change group memberships, and delete users without relying entirely on the Graphical User Interface.
And then...
The new crew received their FIRST SIDE QUEST! 📜⚔️
🤖 THE AI COMMAND-LINE CHALLENGE
Their mission is to use AI as a learning assistant to research commands for managing Windows users from the command line.
But simply asking AI for the answer isn't enough.
The Cyber Viking Rule of AI:
🧠 Don't just COPY it.
🔎 READ it.
❓ QUESTION it.
🧪 TEST it safely.
💡 UNDERSTAND it.
🗣️ And be prepared to EXPLAIN it.
Because typing a command somebody—or some AI—gave you is easy.
Knowing what will happen when you press ENTER is cybersecurity. ⚔️💻
For those brave enough to accept the BONUS QUEST...
Create a PowerShell script or Batch file capable of:
⚔️ Modifying users
🗑️ Deleting users
👥 Changing group memberships
Next week, we will bring those scripts into Val-HALL-ah, test them, walk through the code, troubleshoot them, and probably discover at least one script that does something completely unexpected.
Because...
IT WORKED ON MY COMPUTER! 😂💻🔥
And somewhere in the distance, the Desktop Goose is probably already plotting its return... 🪿😈
But that adventure can wait.
The ships are launched. ⛵
The keyboards are clicking. ⌨️
The new crew is aboard. 🛡️
