𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
🫁 Respiration: The diaphragm is the main muscle of inspiration. During inhalation, it contracts and flattens, increasing thoracic cavity volume and decreasing internal pressure, allowing air into the lungs. Upon exhalation, it relaxes, returning to its dome shape, decreasing thoracic volume and expelling air.
🧍🏻 Posture and Stability: The diaphragm helps maintain posture, working with abdominal and back muscles to stabilize the spine and pelvis.
↔️ Separation of Cavities: It separates the thoracic and abdominal cavities, preventing organ interference and aiding in maintaining pressure differences.
💨 Pressure Regulation: The diaphragm regulates intra-abdominal and intra-thoracic pressures, crucial for vomiting, defecation, urination, and childbirth.
👉🏻 Non-Respiratory Functions: Its rhythmic contractions promote lymphatic flow and venous return to the heart, highlighting its role in circulatory and lymphatic systems.

▪️Attachments: The diaphragm attaches to the lumbar spine via the crura, costal cartilage, and the lower six ribs and sternum, essential for breathing and posture.
▪️Structure: It has asymmetrical sides, influencing its function and impacting posture and movement patterns.
▪️Multiple Diaphragms: Other diaphragmatic structures in the body serve specific functions related to their locations.
