The Castro Valley High School Choral Program is one of the treasures of the Castro Valley community. Comprised of 260 students in five unique choir classes, this program represents about 9% of the student body on this very active high school campus. The CVHS Choral Program has maintained a tradition of choral excellence over many generations. Students in the program participate in various concerts, festivals, competitions, and events throughout the year. The auditioned ensembles, Madrigals, A Ca****la, and Les Chanteuses, have been invited to perform at the prestigious Northern California Golden State Choral Competition and Women's Golden State Competition for decades, always earning the highest of marks from adjudicators. A student favorite, the POPS Concert, closes out the choral calendar as a student-led production – student talent, student direction, student design, and student choreography.

This week, CVHS Choirs honored students for their dedication, leadership, character, hard work, and commitment to excellence, both on and off the stage. Their talent and achievements are a reflection of the passion, discipline, and heart they bring to choir all year long. From favorite performances and special recognitions to heartfelt thanks for our families, teachers, and volunteers, the evening was a beautiful reminder of what makes this choir community so special. Congratulations to all of our students, and especially to our graduating seniors as they close this chapter and step into bright futures ahead. We can’t wait to see where your voices take you next! 🎶

Oops! We did again! Castro Valley High School Madrigals placed FIRST in the 2026 Northern California Golden State Choral Competition. What a wonderful day of music-making with some very fine choirs. Madrigals continue to uphold a tradition of excellence in choral music in Castro Valley, and are an example of what is possible with hard work and dedication. Big thanks to our parent volunteers who supported the students in an outstanding performance yesterday!
