TALKING 'BOUT MY GENERATION (PART 2) Here's another photo of some first and second grade Castlewood, Virginia elementary students. It was taken during the 1958-59 school year. Both Mrs. Milton and Mrs. Kiser were excellent teachers. Mrs. Kiser's schoolroom always featured eye-catching bulletin board art, like what you see here.

MEMBERS OF THE TEMPLE HILL CLASS OF 1942 held a 20-year reunion at the Village Restaurant in Castlewood on July 7, 1962. The photo you see here was taken to commemorate the event. It appeared in the July 11, 1962 edition of The Lebanon News.

Unfortunately, I do not have a 1942 "Templar" yearbook. However, I DO have a 1941 yearbook. Next I'll share a photo of this class taken during their junior year.

Most of us will recognize one or more relatives in the photo :-)

Several years ago, I published an article in the CVT's printed edition about the long-gone Temple Hill School. The main portion of the school burned on the night of January 23, 1948 during a snowstorm. If you didn't read the article but would like to do so, let me know. I'll reprise it on the CVT's webpage if enough readers are interested. It's quite a story.
