Castle Rock, CO is an amazing town and community. No matter the time of day, there is always something interesting going on. More than once, I’ve wanted to go to one site that shows EVERYTHING going on in the town. Until now, that hasn’t been possible.

Many years ago I started a community calendar, called Castle Rock Now. When I moved to Denver, the site merged with another company and shifted focus from just being a calendar. When I returned to Castle Rock, I tried a variety of times to restart the idea, but it never stuck. I realized that each time, I tried different ways to make money off of the sites, from having businesses pay to have their events highlighted, to selling tickets to events on the site. Each time, trying to make money on the site kept the calendar from being comprehensive. Not everyone is going to pay to include their event, so things were left off.

So I’m starting again, this time as a labor of love for our incredible community. In an effort to ensure everything happening in Castle Rock is included, the calendar will always be free for businesses and users. You will always be able to find out what’s Next in Castle Rock. Our social media accounts will focus on highlighting activities or occurrences that directly affect you (such as road or school closures).

I’ll do my very best to keep the Next in Castle Rock calendar updated and 100% accurate, but it’s inevitable that I will miss things. I don’t want to miss any live music events or the location of any of the incredible Castle Rock food trucks, so if you hear of something going on, please let me know! One of my favorite parts of my previous website was including every place a kid could eat free on the calendar. If you know of any restaurants that have free kids meals any given night, let me know and I’ll add it after confirming!
