A huge shoutout to Ian, Ernie, Zach, and Nathan for representing Easton Castle Rock at the Muay Thai Scrimmage. It takes discipline to put in the hours of training, but it takes a different kind of courage to step onto the mats and test your skills in front of others.
Make sure to congratulate them the next time you see them on the mats! 🙌
This weeks fight of the week is one of 8 times Panpayak and Superlek met. A great highlight for middle kick defense.
The first rounds look like a kick war. Watch how Panpayak is handling the incoming. His checks are clean, taking away Superlek’s kicks before they can do damage, while his own open side body kick keeps finding a home.
Superlek starts looking for the clinch to change the equation. But Panpayak has answers in the clinch too: dumps, sweeps & body locks. As well as consistently getting the fight back to the outside where he’s more comfortable.
In traditional Thai scoring, the open side body kick carries significant weight. So does the ability to absorb a clinch game and keep returning to your own preferred range. Watch how Panpayak manages both sides of this fight — on the outside checking and countering, and in close making sure the fight stays on his terms.
