Kind
Safe & Friendly! Our goal is for students to achieve sustainable learning for the 21st century.

Flagstone Elementary School is aligned with our district’s commitment to World-Class Education. Douglas County School District is committed to the success of our students as lifelong learners and critical thinkers. We value all students as individuals with visions of their own futures and connections to the world, and we will guide them toward their full potential. DCSD will encourage our students

to build meaningful relationships with their peers, teachers, administrators, and staff. DCSD is committed to providing students with physically and emotionally safe educational environments, the necessary tools for learning, and the freedom to explore their many options in life. At Flagstone, we believe all students have a right to quality education and that each student has a right to attend school, to learn, and to play in a safe environment. As we work to nurture positive behavior at Flagstone, our hope is to collaboratively model and guide students to think critically, to communicate effectively and to creatively and constructively come up with ways to resolve conflict and build relationships that ensure students have a safe and friendly environment to learn and grow. Positive attitudes toward school, self and good citizenship are goals for each student. The staff focuses on positive approaches to teaching children self-discipline and fostering self-esteem. Recognition will be given to students who demonstrate positive attitudes, achievement and good citizenship.

A new school year means a new Friday routine!

Beginning Friday, August 21, all DCSD neighborhood elementary and middle schools will have a 45-minute late start every Friday to give our educators dedicated time for Professional Learning Communities, or PLCs.

So, what exactly is a PLC? A PLC is time for teachers to learn and work together. Our teachers use this time to collaborate, look at student learning and data, plan instruction, share ideas and strategies, and make thoughtful decisions about how to best support every Mustang. 💙

A few Friday reminders:
📚 School starts 45 minutes later every Friday
🚌 District buses will also run 45 minutes later
🌨️ If there is a weather delay on Friday, PLC time is canceled and the regular weather-delay schedule will apply.

Take a look at our 2026–2027 bell times so your family is ready for the new Friday schedule!

We’re excited to make this dedicated collaboration time count for our students and our staff. Here’s to a great year of learning, growing, and thriving together! 💙🐴

Tech is a huge part of our world, but using it wisely comes first! Before our students get hands-on with technology at school, they complete our annual Technology Bootcamp.

Guided by age-appropriate lessons from Wayfinder and Common Sense Media, students across all grade levels learn how to navigate the digital world safely, responsibly, and respectfully. From digital footprint awareness to online safety, we’re equipping our kids with the tools to shine online!
