Our campus opened this morning to smiling faces, excited students, and so much Hurricane spirit! We loved seeing our students walk through the doors ready for an amazing year at HSMS! 📚✨

A special THANK YOU to Mayor Pro-Tem Kevin Spears for joining us this morning and greeting our students as they arrived as well as our Holly Shelter PTA for having morning breakfast ready for staff. Your support and encouragement helped make the first morning extra special. 💚

🎉The wait is over! 🎉

Tomorrow we officially kick off the 2026-2027 school year at Holly Shelter Middle School!

We are so excited to welcome our Hurricanes back and begin a year filled with learning, growth, friendship, and plenty of Hurricane pride! 🌀📚

🚗 Car Line- Students must be dropped off and picked up in the HSMS car line. For safety reasons, students are not permitted to walk over to the elementary school parking lot.

🔔Doors open at 8:10am and Tardy bell rings at 8:40am.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for HSMS Open House! 🌀 We loved seeing our students, families, and staff together as we kick off another exciting school year here at Hurricane Alley.

🏫 The Shelter hallways came alive from summer break the past two days with over 100 of our 6th grade students officially becoming part of the HSMS Hurricane Track. 🌀

Our ‘Canes brought their BEST energy to the convection balloon hurricane, had the biggest smiles creating coding bracelets and 3D structures, settled some big feelings about coming to middle school and learning the campus through a school wide scavenger hunt, and worked through frustrating moments learning how to open lockers. Thank you to Dr. Barnes for swinging by to check on us, and Scott's Hill Baptist for all the snack donations. It takes a village community to keep our kids motivated about their education and we all truly feel like we are ready for HSMS Hurricane Season to start in a couple weeks.

WOW!!! Day 1 of HSMS Off to Middle School Camp was a surge of success. We are so excited and ready to do it again tomorrow. Just as the shirt in the background states, while our newest ‘Cane proudly displays his EPIC 3D creation, our Hurricanes know there are NO LIMITS.

⏰Day 2 is loading with a full photo drop tomorrow.

We had an Amazing visit with Fresh Start Reptile Rescue last Thursday! This week our artist will be here sketching & painting. We will also be flying drones & driving Sphero robots.

Summer Library week 2 Update!!! 🐍🦎

Please pick up students at 1:00 in the Bus Lot behind Castle Hayne Elementary School due to Summer Food Distribution in the HSMS parking lot. Use the first road to the right after turning at the stoplight and drive all the way around.

Students may enter at the library double doors closest to the parking lot.

Our artist had to reschedule for another program day, so we will edit that portion of the program. 😊
