Yesterday at WECHS we celebrated Pi Day!
We learned about Pi - some say the perfect number. We found meaningful numbers to us in Pi, participated in a variety of learning shenanigans AND engineered structures that would protect a pie from a 7 foot drop - with varied success (see the video).

Thank you WECHS PTSA for providing the pizza pies and dessert/dropping pies for lunch.

The WECHS family celebrates this year's Science Olympiad team! They're bringing home medals in 4 events, AND the Spirit Award! which goes to the school whose students display outstanding positive attitude, teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship (as voted on by all the event volunteers).

Due to Cape Fear Community College campus closure on Friday, August 9th, Wilmington Early College High School will also be closed. The first day of school for WECHS students will be Monday, August 12th as a regular scheduled day. We realize that this is disappointing for students, but we’re excited to welcome you back Monday.

Please note that SEA-Tech and Isaac Bear Early College High School will still have their first day on Friday (8/9) with a two-hour delay. They will not release early as they normally would on Fridays.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Debido al cierre del campus de Cape Fear Community College el viernes 9 de agosto, Wilmington Early College High School también estará cerrada. El primer día de clases para los estudiantes de WECHS será el lunes 12 de agosto como día programado habitual. Sabemos que esto es decepcionante para los estudiantes, pero estamos emocionados de darles la bienvenida nuevamente el lunes.
Tenga en cuenta que SEA-Tech e Isaac Bear Early College High School aún tendrán su primer día el viernes (9 de agosto) con un retraso de dos horas. No saldrán temprano como lo harían normalmente los viernes.
